Page 82 about the Elezens

"They boast the longuest lifespan of all races by a slight margin."

And page 83 about the Wildwood Elezens:

"With lifespans one - or two - tenths again as long as their fellow races, their physical maturity is somewhat delayed. It is not uncommon for Wildwood children to look up to their Hyran friends in their early teens, only to rapidly outstrip them around the age of 20"

Like I said in my previous post Elezens live longer, but they take longer to reach maturity, so it evens out. They don't say if the Duskwight also take longer to reach maturity as well, but both clan live longer than the other races, that is certain, not centuries, more like 10-20 years more, But the twins are both Wildwood so they will take longer to get maturity, so they will stay kids for a while.

Assuming most people in Eorzea die of old age around 70, which seems fair for the setting, Elezen would be expected to make it to roughly 77-84. So to be fair to the guy you're saying false to, that is relatively similar.

Even taking 10-20% slower rate of ageing into account, I'd still have expected the twins to have grown up somewhat since we first met. It's still just about plausible, but another expansion with no change and it will definitely be getting a bit silly.

People don't like him because of his role in the story. He is supposed to be our proxy, because for the most part we are the silent protagonist, he is our voice. So a lot of the times it's acted like he speaks for us or we mirror his opinions. So of course not everyone is going to agree with him 100% if the time. So it develops animosity.

If you go back to V1.0, your character never spoke. Only Thancred/F'lhaminn (MSQ/Ul'dah), Y'shtola(Limsa Lominsa), Yda/Papalymo(Gridania) spoke for you until the path companion came into the picture. And it wasn't so much "for you" but "happened to keep meeting up by coincidence"

Alphinaud replaces them in the MSQ for V2.0, and remains your "voice proxy" for MSQ 2.x to 3.x. Having a single character speak for you when the player can start in 3 different places was clearly a simplification. I'm not sure if it was planned to write out all the V1.0 characters right from the beginning (In V1.0, Momodi, Miounne, and Baderon, the proprietors of their respective adventurer's guild's, were the ones who contacted you to hand out the next MSQ. They've pretty much been written out of the MSQ, though they are still the NPC's of their guilds, they provide no useful information now.)

This is why sometimes things done in V1.0 didn't make sense. V1.0 was never clear about what to do to progress the story. Every 5 levels, you'd get told to come to the adventurer's guild and then be told to go find some random NPC and then Thancred+F'lhaminn/Yda+Papalymo/Y'shtola would just conveniently be in the same location and do all the talking.

I would feel weird if the twins grew up. The storyline of these expansions are suppose to take place one after the other. If my guess is good enough, we have not even gone through 1 year in terms of the time frame of the MSQ. They keep alluding to this by saying something like "I know you have not had time to rest, but are you.... blah blah" kind of thing. This tells me that at most, we have had only a day or 2 of rest before the next crisis is taking place.

So, suddenly having them grow up will seem very weird.

Pretty much a c/p of the race, all you have to do is slap an Elezen face on it.

I was really sad when I saw this games elves. Elves are suppose to be lithe and beautiful, they aren't suppose to be the pale version of a Gumby doll.

Either way I agree...let them grow up. We can handle ugly twins.

I feel like if they wanted the twins grow up then have something happen that would but the player out of comission for a while. Then when we "wake up" BAM! New twin models.

Could be at 5.0 but really any quest could take that turn. It would also be a chance to refresh other things/people/places if they so chose to use it for that.

I have nothing negative to say about elezen proportions or the twins, but I have actually been thinking since the end of heavensward how I would love to see them getting older. I hope the next expansion, or over the course of this one they start getting subtlety updated models. I think adventuring with older versions of them would be cool. ^^

Estinien was a dragon for +1.5 years for us due to the patch cycle but in-game he was only possessed for a few days. It hasn’t been more than a year since our adventuring started, the twins are likely going to stay small for the foreseeable future.

Maybe we can spend time in a reflection world? We could become attached to Hydaelyn in a similar fashion to Minfillia, but she spits us back out after a time skip and ta-dah!
