Who else is loving Bard now?

I've mained melee DPS for the entirety of the (admittedly short) time I've played and it took a single PotD floor 1-50 run with bard for me to fall in love with the job. Amazing mobility, amazing utility, incredibly fun playstyle, I've actually been playing it nonstop for the last three days. Damage is a bit on the low side and I'm not quite sure where exactly they stand as far as party support goes compared to other DPS classes but I am definitely dedicating all my time to learning the class.

Plus Peloton is a nice little thing to have just to move around faster and I love it very much.

I'm glad I have my Bard back. Missed her during HW. Class is fun again (for me.). I also think they could tweak the songs a bit...they seem just a bit too short to take full advantage of them. Not complaining though, I'm having fun with mine.

It's simply the most fun I've had playing a job since 2.0. Gone from MNK, to MCH in 3.0, and after not really liking the changes to MCH I've turned to BRD. I found it somewhat boring in both prior incarnations, but now....ugh, it's so so so good.

<- this right here is the most satisfying thing in the game. Midare Setsugekka? Fell Cleave? Wildfire? Pah! Pah, I say! :P

My only complaints:
*Songs going on cooldown without you getting the effect for missing / hitting an invulnerable target
*Army's Paeon is kind of meh....Ballad and Minuet are fun song-specific mechanics, going really speedy kind of throws off the rhythm of the job. Then again it's a less-reactionary stance which can be a nice break from being twitchy with PP and Bloodletter I guess.
*Troubadour not affecting the BRD using it. I can get over the crit buff thing, but considering the effect of Troub is a long cooldown raid-wide defense buffer it's just weird.

Legitimately the only complaints I can think of. Best BRD incarnation by far.

I've been thinking of going back to Bard. I leveled it to 50 in 1.0 and haven't touched it since, largely because I cannot stand the AF on male characters visually. I feel like a hybrid between a pimp and a cross dresser.. Other than that though Bard has always been fun to play, at least what I remember.

I miss the feeling of having a choice of support functions, rather than being Selene.

Also miss the feeling of all my oGCDs, and the added opportunities to use them in a given window feeling tactical and impactful.

In one of the earlier iterations, Peon was damage and haste. I hate that they changed it making it the least desirable song.

New to the job, enjoying it so far. I love that it has lots of utility buttons, that all have uses even in the leveling dungeon content. Often with DPS classes I find my contribution hard to wrap my head around as I'm just chipping some loosely defined portion of the bosses health bar away. Honestly, just having the two active tank externals would be enough, but that's not even half the support buttons this thing has.

The flow of the job is nice. I sometimes lose myself in the strict sequencing of combos of other classes, and bard feels more like it has a very simple core loop with some procs you need to respond to.

The different personal effects of the songs also gives the class a nice feeling of going through phases and a varied playstyle without getting overly complex.

I just wish that Mage's Ballad had a sound effect that went off when it procs a CD reset. The little flash on the music bar is a bit subtle for my tastes.

I didn't play bard in HW so I can't really compare the experiences.

Sadly, wildfire is far, FAR from enjoyable right now, as most of the MCH kit.
