You healers need to stop

Can't speak for any other healer, but I decide whether to DPS on a run by run basis. I come from WoW and raided during Wrath of the Lich King, so I'm more use to traditional healing. That said, I enjoy the way healers are here, especially for solo content / MSQ. If I find myself standing around a lot on trash, I'll look for opportunities to help if I can. But the party's health is my #1 concern and provided I'm not going OOM (which isn't a big issue currently as WHM) I aim to keep my group topped off; not wait til they're at 20% to throw 'em a bone. That style of play wouldn't work for me--I have vision issues and that would end in disaster. Anyway, just my thoughts. Different healers do stuff different ways.

This is true. it has always been true and it will always be true. Healers are present to make up for other players' mistakes, as well as to heal through unavoidable damage and to remove undesirable conditions / debuffs. The role offers a different style of play than tanking or DPS and has a different set of responsibilities--written or no. That's my personal issue with the DPS or not war, honestly. It adds another layer to what people will blame me for. "I'd you had been dpsing..." "If you hadn't been DPSing..." etc. The trouble is that when someone dies in a group it is the healer's fault until proven otherwise. And proving otherwise is almost always harder than blaming the healer. The DPS issue just adds another route for blame to ensue.

You have the right to kick for different play styles also you could play whm and realize how boring it is without dpsing

Ya I know whm don't need to but it does help and be glad that all these jump potion people are Learning how to DPs as healers and it's so much easier now then it was before.

I've yet to die because of a healer underestimating how much damage I'd be taking in some 40ish instance runs since Stormblood released, nor from them running out of MP.

i've seen whm go Oom easy in the new dungeons. I've seen my g/f get to 20% hp before being healed, she is a good tank and has rampart, shadow wall and the parry buff set and spams them on CD so she almost always has a buff up. Most mobs in dungeons do hard to avoid, or unavoidable aoe which hits hard. She doesn't pull 1/2 the dungeon, and also uses soul eater get help with her hp.

I try my best to help deal damage and avoid aoe as a smn, as well as pop ifrits shield to help. I also have been the 1 mostly using erase to remove debuffs off my g/f.

but ya, i think healers should chill on the dps, i rather non stop pull then wait on healer mp. And yes these healers do use their skills, and do use LD, they still run out.

Again, you have run into bad WHMs if they are dpsing their mana away. LD isn't our only cooldown. Thin Air makes things free, Assize refunds mana, Bene/Tetra/Asylum are all also free.

1/10 bad WHMs doesn't mean we all should stop. The other 9 of us are just fine.

You do bring up another point though. If you are pulling nonstop...are you waiting for your own cooldowns or are you ignoring them and expecting us to save you with ours?
