That's because there is no logic in this place silly.Umm what? People spawning dead in the cave (i.e. a wipe) means they are frustrated?
Do you expect to down Ifrit on your first attempt? (No? - How many attempts?) (Yes? trolol you must be pulling my leg)
The OP has the most thumbs up on his post... because it's his topic and the majority of people don't read further than the first page.
...I don't understand some people and their logic...
OK, it seems like your aguing with me and not the majority..
do you think its reasonable to say that the majority of people are being frustrated by this fight?
i was watching ls after ls spawn dead at the cave so im pretty sure the above is a fair assumption and also the fact the op has the most thumbs on his first post.
my point is what i personally think is besides the point... the is no point in arguing with "ME"
gotta go with the majority-
its like if i was 1 person in 50 that couldnt kill ifrit believe me i wouldnt bother posting.
you can kill him, you just havent yet. You have to learn how to fight him specifically.
It drops gear that eclipses all other weapons until you are up to a +3 3 materiad gear. Do you know how hard it is to even +3 a crafted item that is above you in level? do you then know how hard it is to land two top teir materia on it?
it would essentially take 10 +3hqs to even get two top class materia on it. to get the third would probably take 20 of those.
The ifrit gear is the fastest way to overpoweredness. Even with a week long learning curve, you still profit more learning and beating ifrit.
i think if i see a few ls' wipeing again and again its a safe assumption they are getting frustrated.. hows that for logic?
but maybe i do have it wrong, what do you think? the majority are frustrated or having a good ol time?

Will people PLEASE get over this? Do you understand that NO MATTER WHAT there will be an optimal set up. Even if its 7 lnc 1 thm/con or if its one of every member there will be an optimal set up. Think if a fight couldn't be beat unless you had every class in there you guys would still be crying. Either do it the optimal (not unbalanced) way or think of a strategy that works with what you have. The fact that some party configurations, like 6x Lancers, 2x Con/Thm, have a higher chance of success than other configurations, is simply repeating the Dzemael Mistake. (Whoring of the Archer class, anyone?)
Giving up and coming to the forums to cry is not helping, and its only hurting the game.
Not hurting the game. Hurting themselves is what they're doing. Will people PLEASE get over this? Do you understand that NO MATTER WHAT there will be an optimal set up. Here's my response to the OP:
The fight is EASY if you know what to do. Resentment? Geez, we went through at least a dozen losses before we got our crap together. That first victory was an incredible feeling. Like nothing else I've experienced in this game. Now? Now we win every time. It's automatic, and almost effortless.
And no, we don't limit ourselves to cookie cutter setups. We've had gladiator tanks. MRDs, ARCs, 2 THM 0 CNJ. We still win, because we know what we're doing.
Don't cry because you're doing it wrong.
SE, FANTASTIC job on the Ifrit fight. Please make the next primal battle even worse (better)!
EDIT: I'll also add that this fight did not breed resentment. If anything, it made my linkshell's bond stronger. We're like war buddies now. I suggest the OP re-examine who they're hanging out with in Eorzea, because there seems to be some personality clashes going on there. You can't blame SE for that.

On patch day Ifrit was Hard, now that the ins and outs of the fight are known he is just a pain in the butt.
the two biggest dangers are latency and the server structure now. I have been victorious multiple times as mrd. It kind of sucks that i did not get a weapon of any discription, but hey even if i don't get one by the time ifrit goes out of favor i still have that little accomplishment badge on my profile. And i'm happy with that.

Ummm my group was wiping when we first started. We got better and better till we were only wiping in the last 5%. Then we beat him. Then we wiped. Then we beat him. Then we wiped. Now we farm him. We wiped once out of 13~ wins yesterday... bad luck can happen.
People feel entitled to the win w/o putting in the work. All it takes is effort, attempts, and improvement. If anything, I'm not getting frustrated at the fight only with people not performing in their role during the fight.
I would say most people are happy with the fight. And those who aren't probably are the same people who don't want to level classes outside their main, don't want to gear up correctly, don't want to learn the fight and put attempts in, and feel that content should be scaled so they can complete it on easy mode.
If you do it 50+ times and you don't succeed you are doing something wrong. You need to look at yourself and learn from your mistakes. Do some research. Ask a friend. Etc.
While they may be frustrated, it just makes the accomplishment of defeating Ifrit that much more rewarding for them. It's not satisfying at all if there's no challenge beforehand.
