Maybe because you called a simple friendship with one hug a "lesbian couple." And that is simply false. People tend not to enjoy false, or to find it happy or pleasant. There is absolutely no romantic or sexual tension between Lyse and Alisaie, anywhere in the MSQ or anywhere else.
On the other hand, there are a LOT of interactions that can be easily interpreted as romantic tension between Lyse and the Warrior of Light in the second part of the expansion, regardless of the latter's gender.

If you're wondering why folks are so exasperated, it's because you're trying to pass your own personal ship off as the real deal. It's even possible that you honestly don't even recognize that it's just your own personal preferred pairing, and not canonical at all.
Basically, it's a case of your Shipping Goggles being on a little too tight. Frankly, dig deep enough into the dialog and contexts and you can find reasons to pair up pretty darned near any two characters in the game - and many of them with more "proof" than you've provided for Yda and Allisae.
Fandoms THRIVE on this kind of thing, and creators are more than happy to throw in little tidbits to support just about any possible pairing, because they know that fans eat that kind of stuff up. Rarely, however, do they actually provide any kind of closure on a ship - and they certainly haven't done so here. After this heartfelt hug, do the two start going on romantic dates, or walk around holding hands, or anything else that you might expect a couple who has finally admitted their love to do? No, they do not. Their dialog is indistinguishable from that you'd find between any pair of close friends, because that's what they are: close friends.
In fandom circles, anytime someone stands up and says, "My preferred pairing is the real deal and here's the reasons why!" they will always be shot down, just as is happening here. A lesbian relationship is far from the only, or even most obvious thing to infer from this scene.
Quite so... Occam's razor in effect. "Among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions should be selected." Sain Saying that they're friends is not an assumption, we know they are. Saying it's more than that is an assumption since there is no direct evidence.
