I find it amusing that only one person mentioned they were here from Besaid like myself. I would remind you all though you cannot transfer servers if you cant log in to leave your FC. If that person cannot log in to leave their FC then they cannot transfer. I am not saying this is the case specifically here but it could be a reason for some.

Transfer is not a solution!

Transferring IS a solution. If you don't like how populated balmung is, you and your group of friends can transfer to select other servers free of charge.

To those saying "We pay the ff14 team all this money" no, you don't. You pay the entirety of the square-enix company a sub fee, which goes into a pool of gross/net profits and gets distributed to each department accordingly. the ff14 dev team has a strict budget that they absolutely have to adhere to, or the higher ups will pull the plug on the servers and no more ff14 ever again. Just because you pay 15$/mo does not mean you're going to see 100% up time. During early access, you can and should expect a VERY low access window because early access is when a company stress tests servers to see how they handle high populations slamming them at the same time. In this case, they didn't handle it well, and they have to figure out how to correct the issue within their budget.

Put a PF up. theres cross pf for a reason . You also probably play a DPS role. the queues haven't changed a bit in duration to queue. The only reason you think they are 3 hour queues is because you got left behind on the hype train. give it some time when people 70 and start their alts. dungeon spams will start up again.

OP should really put some sort of preface in their first post to make it clear to people that they are talking about login queues and not DF queues.
Apparently a lot of people can't be bothered to read past the first few sentences.

I can only say, bad servers, bad to accept that this is so after the change of location, but yes, very good to collect the monthly payment on time

My main issue right now is with the dungeon queues.

I logged into the game tonight with ~2 hours to play.

Log in queues for me are extremely short (no complaints there) But as a DPS my dungeon queues are all 1+ hour long. Worse of all I sometimes end up disconnecting after waiting for a long time. I'm not mad at SE. Expansion launches are always rocky. Im just sad I've barely been able to advance in the storyline. Really hoping that SAM/RDM hype dies soon.

edit: I understand OP not wanting to transfer if they have friends/housing in Balmung

Dude this was 5 years ago. Legion had a smooth launch. And let me tell you that 2k people in WoW log in faster than 2k in XIV. It is not the same.

Do you seriously want to go this route? How many expansions did it take them tho? How much more ressources do they have than the FFXIV team? What is less to expect from a billion dollar company?

Out of point. OP is talking about server login queue time. Not duty finder queue time.

What about all of my gil. You can only transfer like 1 mill gil. What am I gonna do with my other 99 million gil T_T
