This is a two fold problem: one is that tanks, in most PUGs/PUBs, set the pace and have to lead the group. Most people would rather follow than lead as leading implies if **** goes wrong, it's your fault (even though we know that isn't true.)

Second is the lack of diversity in tank. I started as a PLD back in 2.0. In 3.0 I rolled a DRK only to find out its an off tank. Right now from what I understand, the players see tanks as follows:

PLD = MT
WAR & DRK = OT

.......so really, if you want to tank end game, you have one choice. If you want to be the little ***** that's going around grabbing adds or on stun duty (if that's still around, I'm out of date), you go the other 2.

Meanwhile on DPS....how many choices do we have? When you compound the first issue with the second, nobody wants to play tank.

LOL ! In Alexander as DRK, I've seen numerous time a low level PAL with minimum gear, rushing to the boss to be the "MT" and dying in less than a minute.
