Eh. I don't like the problems any more than next person who's also stuck at Cold Steel. But there is only so many people you throw at an IT problem until each new person actually adds more time needed because of the amount of communication back and forth. They likely had people left over to throw at different problems and this one was just solved faster.

This one sounds like they can write in a quick exception for emotes while going into this one instance, whereas the current bottlenecks are a result of the instance servers not being able to handle the workload.

I'm from a relatively popular server, Leviathan. Doing a player search right now there are 195 players online in areas beyond Gyr Abania. Take into account people who might be afk, offline, or just exploring other regions, I'll make that a very generous 1,000. Currently there are 65 servers in total. Assuming each has the population of Leviathan, which is a vast overestimation, that's 65,000 players in total who have reached Othard. There are just over 10 million players trying to play this game all at once. How many are trying to get into Stormblood content is unclear. Doing simple math, it's actually about 0.65% of players have made it to Othard. Keep in mind, that's being generous.

SE is making things worse than necessary by insisting to limit us at Raubahn rather than temporarily shut down everything else that is not needed for story progressions.
Raubahn blocking means more people are flooding the rest harder making it even worse for Raubahn/Pippin instances...

Just too bad that Yoshi doesn't realize this. And since it's only the NA community that seems to be affected now, SE can ignore it altogether.

While I am going to take some random internet theory with a grain of salt. The theory was that they plan to increase server space but this fix would be cheaper to do on Monday. I have no idea if this is true. But the company I work for would stop just short of letting the building fall over before calling people in on the weekend. Heavy storm on Saturday created a hole in the roof they said just move the stuff and avoid that spot and waited till Monday to fix.

I mean, it could just be a coincidence but it's a very strange one regardless.

To elaborate further, I'm referring to the simple fact that they're not just getting through the first and second bottlenecks - they're getting through all of them. The average player, meanwhile, is unable to get past the first bottleneck...and even if they do they're very likely to struggle to get past the second.

Mostl likely just skiped cut scenes and side quests and made it to the bottleneck spots before it got bad so that they could make videos of dungeons first.
