Irrelevant. This is an unfortunate situation but I can only imagine how the development team and Yoshi feels right now so I will wait as long as it takes.
This game is worth it and waiting a little extra isn't really a problem, even though I was hoping that I could progress that awesome story when I got off my night shift.
They should feel bad and worse for preventing players from actually doing content.
Just shut down the servers, change the battles into fates, start up again and let people actually do the content.
You should be a little more humble. Stormblood is going to be one of the best expansion releases for a mmorpg in a really long time and this is coming from someone who opted out of Heavensward for it being a bad expansion. What is a day or two wait going to do to you? Nothing at all and that wait will soon be replaced by countless hours of playing an awesome expansion to a mmorpg.

Well... Since you ask... I have only a few days more that I'll be able to play because I'm going to be away for 3 weeks during which I won't be able to play at all.You should be a little more humble. I'd like to do as much as I can in that time.
It's not the first time SE screws up like this with FFXIV. And every time they lose players permanently.

I think only naive and inexperienced MMO players expect a new expansion launch to go off without a hitch on day 1. However, we can't tell how "awesome" or "amazing" this expac is supposed to be because of poor design decisions on multiple levels.
I feel bad for the engineers who probably saw this coming, said something about it, and were shut down by management. I have no sympathy for people who write off preventing major issues like this and place the burden of dealing with the fall-out on the same people who wanted to prevent it in the first place.
At this point either give us an auto-clear of the instance (it's not a major part of the story- it's taking out some stupid mechs) or tell us what you're working on. Having so many people unable to move on over 24 hours after launch is unacceptable.
The bottleneck will simply happen elsewhere. Just a few quests after that people have said there's another solo instance.I think only naive and inexperienced MMO players expect a new expansion launch to go off without a hitch on day 1. 1) Bad design.
2) It's not as bad there as everyone is still gated behind Raubahn.
Stop making excuses for SE.
They've had plenty of time to fix this or come up with another solution, yet we get nothing but "sorry".
At the very least, by now they should offer up extra sub days as compensation for preventing people to play the expansion content they paid for.
