the thing thats killing me is that even with a line of 100s of ppl, its not working. so imagine if those ppl all were trying at the same time instead of lining up. Something is clearly off.

Every. Expac. Before. Legion. Had. Issues. At. Launch. All of them. Without fail. And they weren't minor ones - they were legitimate "game breaking" / player inconvenience issues. The entire Horde storyline in WoD was totally busted from the start and it took them over twelve hours to sort it out completely. So you either had to play Alliance or sit on your hands and wait.
Also - nothing SE said on their post was "Deal with it, we're not fixing it." It was literally "We're working as fast as we can - we know this is a problem but until we can get it resolved, this is your best option. We're sorry." .

there's the link that says it's deliberate. So ya know, no need to defend them, they're big kids.
And gosh, I remember playing Horde, when warlords launched, and trying to do that. Blizzard did this weird thing called maintenance and fixed the issue.

Really does make me think SE underestimate just how many people planned to play it today, did they think people wouldn't book time off work or take a 'holiday' from school. >.> <.< >.>

yeah what a glorious server upgrade this ended up being, 9 hours in and i still cant do this MSQ, why the hell did i even bother logging on for this nonsense, server issues i get, bugs i get, but this? this colossal god damn oversight that SE seems to thing is entirely acceptable? on what planet is this acceptable?
