SE made this game AST only, why?

When it was announced that there were only two jobs coming and it the reality started to sink in that they both might be dps, I made a comment along the lines of "I hope whatever changes they make to healers and tanks don't drive people away to the dps role" because that means queues are only going to get worse dps.

This is what I was talking about.

That's on the players for thinking that the meta they formed is the only true way to play the game and try to force the developer to conform to their ideals. In reality, it's very much the opposite. The healer/tank issue is mainly only a western "problem." Likewise, (unsure about the east on this) people complained that tanks and healers were basically the same with very little in difference other than how much DPS they could contribute. From the changes, that's not what SE intended and is trying to brute force their intentions.

It'll fall on deaf ears.

The devs birthed the DPSDPSDPS meta with Gordias and, to an only slightly lesser extent, Midas. As long as they continue to think DPS checks are primary mechanics, it will be meta.
