Will be great to see farm parties have a 100% success rate now...
That still has never been a valid excuse to ignore the requirements someone set for their party. Sneaking into a farm-party has always been wrong and the fact that people still did it lead us here, to this situation.
My experience with bonus-people sneaking into farm-parties is btw the following: Duty loads in, bonus message appears, someone asks "who has bonus?", everyone starts linking some drop from the encouter to prove they have cleared it. No one speaks up about their bonus for two minutes. The first person leaves. The whole group leaves. The group disbands and the time of 7 people has been wasted because someone thought "No bonus? That doesnt apply to me!"
I'm very willing to help newcomers, a lot of people actually are! Each time this discussion comes up I see plenty of people saying the same thing: I'm willing to help, but I also want to reach my own farming goals and I need the means to ensure I can do that.
I'm very willing to join a clear or practice party. I'm very willing to help a newcomer. I'm even willing to accept a new person in a farm-party as long as they asked.
I'm NOT willing to help or even tolerate a person who thinks they can ignore requirements and joins a farmparty without having their clear. Those people can gtfo and end up on my blacklist straight away.
Stop trying to make lying and ignoring requirements sound okay and the only way for you to play the game.
I would offer you my help if we were on the same datacenter and I do hope you'll find decent learning and clear parties for the upcoming content - but if you really think its okay to join farm-parties with bonus and without asking if thats okay, I'm very glad they put this restriction in place now.
I....have never actually used the PF, I usually turn off notifications the second one pops up. I'll go in groups with my FC or use the DF. I like chaos, I guess. I give 2 shits if we wipe when people are actually trying.
I agree that people who have not cleared and join farm or clear parties is disrespectful, never would i personally do so.
Also i do agree with some players, this may very well just be because of the time i am able to play but rarely do people ever care to join learning parties.
SophiaEX was really bad for this, first few days there was so many clear parties, must know fight, etc.. long story short it had taken me a few months to find people that were fine with me having not tried that fight yet. Again this may simply come down to playtime but almost feels as if need a pre-formed everytime new content is out.
This was just an observation and something myself and a friend of mine have experienced.
I recognize that this is feature that a lot of people want, and for good reason. Party Finder is a tool that should facilitate players in finding custom-made parties to achieve a specific goal. If experienced players are requested, newbies should not be trying to sneak into that particular group.
But it makes me a little sad, because I think many people will just be snotty and impatient, and leave the "Duty Complete" option toggled on by default for everything they do, whether it matters or not. And as we all know, there are plenty of highly-skilled "newbies" who play well and have even looked up guides beforehand, who can out-perform many of the so-called "experienced" players allowed into the party. Overall, while I agree that this feature should exist, it will have a net negative impact on new players' ability to achieve first-time clears of content.
I can't speak for Primal, but Aether has no issue with learning groups filling up fast. I'm guess that Primal is probably similar. But if you're making PFs at odd hours of the day/night (i.e., super early when everyone is sleeping or around lunchtime during the week when most are at work or in school, if they're students), then of course groups are going to fill slower. Make PFs during prime time for your data center, and they really do fill up easily. Will they necessarily result in a clear? In a perfect world, perhaps, but this isn't a perfect world.
Just keep trying. You won't get anything if you just throw your hands up and say "Oh well in the past the PFs never filled so they aren't going to fill now."
Also, how many people in this thread say that they are more than willing to jump into learning groups, and help newbies? Quite a few, so please stop saying that everyone is so reluctant to help new people... :/ Because that's not the case.

Yoshi-p wants to make it so you can send tells cross-server. The current PF allows players from the same datacenter to get matched together and run content together. If both are combined, the newbie wanting to particiate in a clear or farming party, will be able to send a tell to the creator of said group and negotiate his access. Ultimately, it's up to the person creating their PF to allow them or not, after all it's theirs. The have NO obligation, if they are asking for "no bonus", to have bonus players.
This is not new, the "please no bonus" has been there for ages, now being able to make it technically possible with the new settings, will help them. People will use it wrongly or abuse it? That's something we need to see first before making assumptions. There might be cases? Probably. Will it be the majority? I really don't think so, but I can't guarantee it. Looking for exceptional cases or very few episodes of this happening is cherry picking for the sake of talking sh*it about this system.
I personally think that people opposing this system, they may as well be supporting liars that sneak in a group that was NOT intended for them. No one is saying that first timers are bad, no one is saying that peope with their clear are good at it. This is a criteria that some people want to put in place so they create a filter. I personally was victim of bonus players sabotaging my farming parties, disbanding groups and getting carried, then leaving. I really don't want that happening anymore. They have the freedom of creating learning parties. If the content is outdated, you have guides and videos to feed your knowledge about the fight and give it a shot in PF creating your own group. I always see learning/clearing parties in PF.
Personal experience: I've got a group together for Sephirot Extreme and cleared it, when I got back from my 7 months hiatus. Nidhogg was out at that point. This was when I was in Hyperion, the Primal Datacenter with no cross-server PF stablished yet. Then I moved to Aether (Balmung) and cleared Thordan Ex before 3.4. Another fight I haven't cleared. On both cases I read guides and watched videos. I had a couple (2 friends) helping me out, the rest were pugs. There is always people down for helping. People either helpful or bored enough to give it a shot with you.
It doesn't really matter how many pages of people there are here saying they'd join a learning party to help people. The end result for me regardless has been a lot of wasted time with parties that don't fill, people who join only to leave again because the party isn't filling fast enough, etc. Also, how many people in this thread say that they are more than willing to jump into learning groups, and help newbies? Quite a few, so please stop saying that everyone is so reluctant to help new people... :/ Because that's not the case.
The overwhelming majority are the people looking out for themselves alone, and the PF (in turn overwhelmingly full of NO BONUS parties) reflects this.
I'm not saying people should be sneaking into these parties. I'm saying that now the game makes it even easier for the NO BONUS crowd to thrive and outright encourages their existence, which means a crappier experience overall for newcomers to contentThat still has never been a valid excuse to ignore the requirements someone set for their party. Sneaking into a farm-party has always been wrong and the fact that people still did it lead us here, to this situation.
And I'm not sure if anyone responded to this point, but it's still going to be a real pain in the ass if our PF is still full of parties that we can't actually join because they're NO BONUS parties without some way to filter them out.
