    More info on the summoner please!

    I'm sure they will still add in the summoner the only change/limitation from traditional summoners will be regarding the "gods". i kinda like the concept of once again making them something uber powered for one crazy damage attack, i'm curious as to how they will pull it off. all it means is they will have other things to summon as pet types that are not mini primals. take the elementals, they are a good start, from there they can evolve and grow in power (fire elemental 2,3,4,etc) maybe provide elemental golems, drakes, etc. there is no end of what kind of things a summoner can summon, it does not need to be the primals all the time.

    Please give us a little more of an idea of what the summoner will actually do as this is one of the more convoluted classes especially after the little nugget of info about free companies and primals.

    Can you please give us some detailed info on the future plans for crafting , as it stands crafting takes up way too much time IMO , and i believe many others fell the same way . Also , what changes are going to be made to GLD class ? Our dps sucks and MRD are turning into much better tanks . right now glads seem kinda useless in the bigger picture of things .

    In a recent interview, it was mentioned that the dev team was in discussion on how to implement Ninja, Thief, and Samurai. Do you think Thief can be the secondary job that Gladiator unlocks? Would it be possible to have Parivir as the Katana Wielding class, along with Samurai (Double Hand Trait) and Ninja (Dual Wield Mastery Trait) as the two unlockable jobs?

    I like the idea of including future content that requires a larger amount of players, but can we also receive content that caters to low man groups as well that has competitive rewards to the large scale events?

    I liked how in XI you could low man Salvage with 6 players, and later could duo or trio NM's in Abyssea to obtain relevant gear.

    Please give us more options to play with varying sizes of groups, whether that be a light party of 4 or more, and please allow the rewards to be competitive and relevant to the other forms of content.

    Reasons why alt-tabbing doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.

    Mostly because a good 80% of people are using a single dual-head GPU, and are capable of running two monitors at once (with the game in windowed mode at the full resolution of the first monitor, and key word is capable). Furthermore, I'd imagine of the people who's cards aren't quite strong enough to full screen this game, they play in windowed mode to avoid stretching in full screen mode at low resolution.

    And of all the issues in the game, this may be the least detrimental to the players.

    Umm. Playing windowed mode actually consumes more resources because your GPU also has to render the desktop in addition to rendering the game graphics. So no, working alt-tab would actually allow people with slower GPUs to get more performance. Besides, you can play on lower resolution than your native one in fullscreen.

    The whole thing is beside the point anyway, working alt-tab is a standard feature of any program using fullscreen, no matter the OS and the only ones that messed it up i know of so far was SEGA with PSU and SE with FFXI/XIV

    This isn't really a thread about alt-tabbing though, so we should stop getting offtopic.

    Regardless of it's relative usefulness for a player, it is a STANDARD FEATURE(tm) that every PC game in existence post-1970 has, and you will be a laughing stock if you do not have it in your (AAA!) game.

    You will also be a laughing stock if you point out a post-1970's game that doesn't have said feature.

    Even Yoshida was baffled by the whole issue when approached in an interview. Possibly facepalming and thinking "how could they let this HAPPEN?" while trying to come up with an answer that wouldn't make things even worse.

    The only saving grace is that SE is a console developer, sticking it's nose where it didn't (initially, hopefully) belong.

    My question(s) to SE....aside from what's already been said...

    1. Are the awkward animations during cut scenes going to be fixed/replaced with a proper animations?
    i.e. The awkward walk animation in the nation quests or just about any CS for that matter.


    2. Are our NPC companions going to become more akin to the FFXI NPC companions?
    i.e. As in, where we can call them up for a set period of time and exp or do quests with them. Then by spending time with them in such a manner they will be able to stay out longer and become stronger.
    Right now... they're kinda useless... imo...

    3. Will we be allowed to change nations/grand companies in the future like we can in FFXI?

    4. Can we please, please, please, please see food stats?
    -As in, can we see what food does to us? Please? Pretty please with a cherry on top? Food had such a cool role to play in FFXI, I wish to see that role made better in FFXIV however it became very frustrating having to search for what the stats a food gives every time we were thinking of using food. It was even more frustrating before FFXI was windowed.


    5. Can the recipes (for armor and weapons) on lodestone show you stats?
    -This would really help for crafting ...a lot.... Especially when looking at which gear to craft.

    6. Will there be a form of Signet/Sigil/Sanction for Grand Companies or Nations as another means of gathering points/currency for a specific faction?

    7. Could Parlay be replaced with Tetra Master in FFXIV?
    -Tetra Master was good enough to be an add on to FFXI/ its own separate game. It was a lot of fun to play in previous FF games. It would be fun for it to be added into FFXIV. You could even make it an actual event for players, like a real tournament. The prizes could be in game things.
