According to some other thread here healers don't heal, cause they only need to press 1 button every 30 seconds and are lazy.

This happened a few days ago. Was bored, so I decided to queue up for Mentor Roulette on WHM. Queue insta pops (22 min, in progress), so I'm thinking "cool, this should be quick and easy."

Zone in to Stone Vigil, and it's only 2 green leaf DPS, no tank. Great. They had cleared the first boss, before apparently their healer left, claiming "He was tired of healing a bad tank," and said tank left soon after. Luckily, we get a tank only a couple of minutes, so off we go. Now, one of our DPS was an Arcanist (Which I didn't even notice until it was pointed out to me, to be honest), and they had the tank pet out. Didn't think much of it, since I figured they could have been trying to clear a few mobs while waiting.

New tank starts pulling, and, of course, tank pet is out, still, so they're constantly fighting for aggro. Tank asks the Arcanist to switch pets and starts to run toward the next set of mobs. No response from the Arcanist, they just continue DPSing. During the pull the tank asks again. No response. After the pull, I say something and ask them to switch. No response, again. I now realize exactly why the previous healer and tank left. Tank now says that he's not going to put up with this and will leave if they don't switch pets. The Arcanist then proceeds to pull the next set of mobs, themselves. At this point, I'm pretty sure that we're just getting trolled, and I say we'll initiate a vote kick as soon as we get out of combat. The second I say that, the Arcanist stops DPSing. They still haven't said a word the entire time I had been in the dungeon, but apparently, the Arcanist had whispered the tank, right before the kick went through saying "Why?" Now, I'm not sure if they were actually trolling or just really were that clueless. We get a new DPS fairly quickly and finish the dungeon with no issues. First time I've seen the counter sub 30 minutes in a roulette.

I am, at the time I make this post, a Lv55 Black Mage (not main of course) doing a Trials Roulette, and this is my story of that instance.

Duty: The Chrysalis
Wipes: 3
Players that left: 4 (a Healer and the other 3 DPS)
DPS replacements: All Ranged.

We got to the time warp easily enough. And when we did a Bard was designated to LB3. It took out half the tear's HP. We managed to destroy it. However, we lost both Healers in the time warp...

Needless to say when we came out it became a frantic struggle. So I decided to do what a Black Mage typically never does: Use Physick.

I Physicked and Physicked until the boss was nearly dead.

In the end, I was the lone survivor, and he was at critical status. That's when it happened... A Thundercloud proc!


That's right, a Black Mage's Physicking saved us from a 4th wipe at the last second! I choose to recognize this as a proud moment for having Physick slotted as a Black Mage before Stormblood removes that capability.

Final steps of faith...oh boy.

I was helping my son catch up and get through the final steps of faith. Watch a couple of guides with him, to make sure he knew what to do. 1st run, adds phase, I'm off tank and pick up one of the adds, the main tank takes the other leaving the middle dragon alone, and everyone then randomly selects a target...somehow we get through, then we get the attack where we gather to share damage, no one gathers...wipe.

2nd attemp, this time we do the same, and someone gets pissy saying "I told everyone to stack on A". If, and I mean if, they said that, it scrolled by faster than anyone could say, regardless, no one was running to A or the attack marker in any case, except me, and that was the only time I died before the wipe. All the while the main tank is blasting people for not watching a guide, and starts laughing at our FC name, as if we were the problem...

3rd attempt, my son is annoyed, so I tell him just to stack on A, then we get to the adds phase and once more wipe. This time someone tries to vote abandon, which is rejected. It's really fortunate that my keyboard had lost its Bluetooth sync, or I'd have had a few choice words since no one seemed to want to stack to share damage and the adds were pure chaos...

Final attempt, heaven alone knows what the echo was. This time everyone will stack on A, assuming of course that everyone wants to share damage... When we get to the adds, the very same main tank who complained about no one stacking, and no one watching a guide ordered me, none too nicely, to pick up the dragon. I so much wanted to be able to type because that add doesn't pay attention to hate and hits whoever it pleases, so instead of managing an add I can actually hold, I get the dragon, full hate and it never once turns to me. The main tank then compliments me on picking it up!! When we get to needing to stack, two people resolutely don't, one just runs in circles...somehow we get through and survive, Nidhogg didn't.

Off tank suits Paladin well, I was able to catch one of the healers before they fell a couple of times with clemency.

Overall a terrible run the demonstrated that having i270 is meaningless if you're a tank that can't tell the difference between an add that ignores tanks and one that doesn't. That and, don't blast people for not watching a guide if you're going to use a different strategy...

There's a lot of people that apparently don't know how Edda's fight goes on Floor 50 of PotD. I explained it to two groups with new people (avoid AOEs, look away when she's casting "Cold Feet", etc.), and each time, the group failed the duty. :/ I've never had this issue. Even back when PotD only had 50 floors...

Anyways, I also want to rant about the rare procs on Gold Trimmed Sacks. I know this isn't really DF related, but I NEED to rant about this somewhere. So apologizes.

They need to take out the worthless crap like the Wind-up Edda, Blackbosom Orchestrion Roll, and the stupid housing items (Palace Pedestal, Palace Wallpaper, Palace Flooring) out of the rarer sacks. I am tired of getting excited, hoping for a Night Pegasus, and ending up with 3 orchestrion rolls that sell more to an NPC than the MB on my server. Same for the minion. At least the Tier V elemental materia is worth 10k on my server, rather than 150 gil. >.> The Abigail Barding isn't even worth that much anymore, yet I got 3 of them this evening. Took me two weeks to get rid of the last three I got because stupid undercutters.... :/

At least I'm back at floor 171. Hoping to clear it this time, and not wipe on 195 or 197. Again.

I was also thinking about doing a guide for PotD. Can't seem to find much on Floors 151+ since not a lot of people post about the particulars there, and I don't always feel up to watching YouTube vids trying to pick out particular mechanics or whatever. And I've been so far into PotD already, I have a pretty decent knowledge of what to watch out for. Just something I guess I can work on while bored. Not sure if PotD will still be viable come SB launch, but there will probably still be people out there wanting to farm for the Pegasus mount at least. Maybe. Idk. I may just do it to pass the time while waiting for queues.

Floor 151+ is fairly straightforward. The biggest thing to remember about all those floors is you need to be running on the max edge of the rooms, always (unless you've activated a sight or safety). Additionally I save all my rage and witching pomanders for 181-189 (for the chimera patrol chains and worms), and all my Serenity for 191+ (because the floors there love to stack effects).

Even back when PotD only had 50 floors...

If you really consider that fight, it is one of the easiest boss encounters in the game. Knowing the fight makes it super easy, and not knowing it makes it wildly difficult.

Had a good one last night running Haukke Manor with my friend. I was running DRk and my DRG friend. My freind and the healer (CON) where both sprouts. Up to the first boss everything was fine, my health got a bit lower than I'd like but the healer was new so I didn't complain. At the staircase to the basement i jumped off to skip the group on the stairs and everyone followed. Part of the way through the fight our THM throws a random thunder at the group on the stairs, So now I'm tanking both groups with a healer that isn't very good. I almost die but was able to keep myself alive with cooldowns.
After the fight the healer asks my friend to use the stairs next time in all caps. We are like What? but ignore it a just move on. In the next pull I die due to healer not healing me at all and it is at this point that I see sleep getting cast on enemies. Thinking that the healer is casting sleep i ask them not to use sleep as it is very useful when cast on targets in melee range. This is where is all falls apart and it is probably partially my fault.
The healer says that they aren't using sleep and the THM says they are doing it and that I need to stop hitting the targets he is sleeping. At this point I'm really confused, why would a DPS stop doing damage to do CC?????? So I them to please stop as it really isn't worth sleeping enemies. His response is to start insulting everything I do, and claiming that I an the worst tank every since I died. Then He starts pulling aggro and blaming me for his death.
Then the Healer come out of nowhere and start insulting me as well. We get to the boss and after pulling i just /sit. I had planed on trying to vote kick the THM but was kick before i could (does it only take 2 votes in 4 mans?). My friend vote abandoned after that and we went back in and had a smooth run. But really what THM uses sleep???? it is such a waste....
