    -1 on adding these race/gender combo's.

I appreciate many people want it but for me

Lore > Adding Choices for ManCat FemRogs...

FXI established well the Lore behind the omissions and while FFXIV hasn't yet I am not about to push for the change.

Again I am on the opposite side of the fence enjoying the familliarity and nuances of the races being reintroduced.

Having said that, should those who have wishes counter to mine to have the alts be heard and they are added I won't be upset either....

As I said in my first post.

The Excuse that lore restricts them is not valid as the Lore actually states they exist. Multiple times.

Female Roegadyn and Male Miqote are both mentioned both in game in various capacities. A Female Roegadyn is commented on as being rather rich and popular in Ul'Dah

and the na.finalfantasyxiv.com website says this. There are other mentioned of both but I don't have them all documented on hand right now.

The Sea Wolves originally hail from the islands of the far north seas, where they still subsist as fishermen and women. Long ago, no vessel or coastal village was safe from their maritime brand of brutality. Now, it is not uncommon to see them employed as sailors or naval mercenaries on all manner of vessels.

So the Lore Excuse does not fly for XIV.

I, too, would love to see male miquotes and female roegadyns in game. I've never understood the mentality of providing only one gender, unless if the race itself only has one gender. However, as you state it's right there in the lore, that both genders exist.

It feels like the miquotes exist largely as eyecandy for men, as they're quite sexual in nature even. Clearly, no one would want a male miquote! /sarcasm

I have to admit though, I'd really like the game itself to improve before seeing these new playable characters added. But, they should at least appear in game as NPCs. Female roegadyns are popular in Ul'dah right? Well, where are they? Ghosts?

Me... I don't really mind either way, I think. However, to reply to the quoted segment.. it has been established.

Highlanders do have females, I can't remember the justification however, Roegadyn.. okay I don't think they got anything yet. But Miq'ote? Pretty clearly explained at one point, though I forget exactly where. It might have been an interview or one of the race info publications, though I think it was an NPC I spoke to early on in my first visit to Ul'dah.

Miq'ote are supposedly very solitary and territorial by nature. Thematically, very few have much to do with the civilisations at large and tend instead to roam large areas in small numbers or alone. Females are a little less so, males on the other hand are rather moreso. I forget where I read all this, but it ended with, 'Only female Miq'ote have taken interest in living in the cities so far.'

Thematically, the Miq'ote gender ratio, population-wise and unlike Final Fantasy XI's Mithra, is actually more or less balanced. Their males are just a lot more solitary and territorial by nature than their females, and a bit feral.

Well judging from the difference between female mithra (from FFXI) and female miqote (from FFXIV), the mithras look much more feral than the more human looking miqote, so im sure that the male miqote would also look much less feral than the male mithra, so they will probably look like a smaller midlander hyur with cat ears and a tail and look a little more sly/tricky :P.

I'm not in favor of adding the missing gender races but there could be story quests that we actually see some of em as NPC's explaining why they are not joining the fight, like the cat man watever its name was in FFXI being too "rare". Its probably 1 guy for 50 girls, pretty sure the guy is real "busy" and don't have time to think about war

In order to do that they would have to change the lore of the game, its not the same lore as FFXI. It already talks about the missing genders in the game several times and the only one they could maybe get away with not adding is the Female Highlander since the lore says they only really hang around Ala Migho. As for the Female Roegadyn they are said to be quite the opposite of rare, in fact one of them is famous and known throughout Ul'dah for her beauty and wealth. Male Miqote are also quite abundant, but they are kind of reclusive and dont really like conversing with the other races that much and prefer to adventure alone or in smaller groups.
