If you think not playing at your best, is cause for a party member to kick you... then you really don't quite get where I am trying to explain how your just part of a party and people don't have to do what you want... what would you even say is the reason for that... "Didn't play their best, even though... if they played their best it would be a one time thing because best is the peak of good better best"

You don't owe people your best when you go to a dungeon, you owe them the understanding that you will fulfill your role, and meet the objective of clearing the dungeon.

I have never said be selfish, Besides I highly doubt you pop potions during regular DF runs and eat food to do your "Best" You settle for what you think is sufficient and all I am saying is you are grouping with multiple people, with their own plan on how they are going to play, you can suggest things.. but expecting people to do everything you say, or think they should be doing isn't going to happen.

You know what I'm talking about by doing your best and it doesn't include Potions and stuff that even if they are useful, not everyone can have them. You just decide to pick whatever you want from what I write and then use it to fit your narrative even if it's in a complete different context. This is just silly. To "do one's best" has another word for it. It's called "try." Just put some damn effort into things, that's all people have to do.

There's a difference between using a potion/food and a healer sitting on his ass for 80% of a dungeon.
"Doing your best" is obviously set in the context of the content you are doing. Nobody is asking you to be MLG pro player with top performance in Sastasha. People are just simply asking you that if you can do something to contribute, then you should.

So no, I cannot agree that you should be able to enter a dungeon and say "no, I don't want to use my damage skills even if I can". That's just being an entitled prick.

Really, those are two different things entirely. Best is like first place, try is to attempt to do anything, you don't even need to succeed. Just because you want someone to do something, doesn't mean they need to. They do not owe you a thing when they get grouped to you. The objective to clear a dungeon doesn't have asterisks of * and do whatever they tell you* You use the DF so you already know your standards you speak of... are well non existent and I would argue the people here demanding DPS are a minority, 99% of us just want the dungeon to succeed, I am not going to vote kick or yell at the healer, why... so what 4 extra minutes, damn my life ruined. The demand is silly, and thank god... almost everyone doesn't care enough to be bothered with it.

Because doing your absolute best (as AlphaSonic was saying) requires one-time use items. Hence why most people will save them for raids.

There is a difference between absolute best and efficiency. What people are actually asking for is efficiency of time spent in a dungeon by having a healer contribute DPS.

I don't want to get caught in some back and forth, before I continue down this slope, People have a choice on what they do, as long as they are playing their class they need not be optimal especially for regular content where unless you meet minimal iLvL the difference is minor. If you don't like healers doing nothing 80% of the time, put on crappy gear. Your over geared for the content
