Does SE even cares about MCH At all?

It is still the LEAST popular dps compare to every other classes specially with BRD.. from what I learn about MCH u have to worry the *heat* problem otherwise u will be losing a lot of dps. I mean it's already BAD enough that we have to get the right rotation plus the RNG proc to get our dmg out there, now we have to worry about the *heat* management lol, it is ridiculous that BRD gets an easy rotation compare to us MCH. The punishment is just a bit too high for MCH make the class isn't enjoyable at all. ><

Well, firstly I wouldn't take polls too literally. I'm not saying MCH won't be the least-popular (something has to be? :P), but I mean 30% of the population isn't going to be RDM+SAM. Once people can play with all the changes themselves things will shift a bit. A lot of its current reputation will be factoring into polls.

Secondly, they've pruned a LOT from 3.X MCH. Our only damaging OGCDs have been reduced to just Gauss Round and Ricochet. Lead Shot's gone, as are Raging Strikes, Hawk's Eye and B4B. The Heat gauge might end up being complex, or not, it's hard to say right now (ammo stalling heat build is the only counter-intuitive thing imo). But there's very little to think about but 123 and heat now. Wildfire does have a stricter window, but there are also fewer things to fit in....Hypercharge is the only skill that you can't use in every single wildfire. It might still be complex, but not in a way that compounds the existing complexity. It might even end up feeling easier, who knows :P MCH has actually gone to being one of the jobs with the lowest amount of skills to assign.

They've actually addressed the biggest complaints about MCH - lack of flashiness and too many buttons to think about. Also regarding the comparison to BRD, MCH looks to have more personal DPS. Naturally BRD seems to have more support too, but on the offensive side of things at least I don't think the margin between them is significant. I've seen a lot more MCH interest for SB than pre-HW actually.

Just to give further detail, from the Famitsu magazine write-up Overheat is indeed listed as a damage buff. The way MCH works according to the Japanese tooltips and write-up is as follows:

When you equip Gauss Barrel, your shots do 5% more damage. Between 0 and 50 heat you gain 5 heat per shot.
When you pass 50 heat, your three basic shots (split shot/etc) change into more powerful "heated" variants and do more damage, but you gain +10 heat from each shot.
When you hit Overheated, then your damage increases by 20% for 10 seconds, but after that your Gauss Barrel is forcibly removed and cannot be re-equipped for an additional 10 seconds.

Thus due to the nature of how your shots change in the "heated" state, for sustained damage it looks like you want to juggle between 50-100 heat with your cooldown abilities, and then overheat if you want some burst and don't mind the following downtime. And given that both Overheat and Wildfire run for 10 seconds you can almost guarantee you want to overheat for it.

Also this makes Flamethrower viable since it adds heat every tick. If Flamethrower overheated you that quickly and that also caused a damage reduction it would have been an absolute hilarity.

There is also a new Skill for Machinist that will reduce heat per use that is spammable called "Cooldown" which is a attack skill that does 230 potency about 50% heat (150 if under 50% heat) and reduce Heat by 25 per use and is GCD skill so you can easily maintain between 50% to 100% heat until the player feels the need to Overheat for that large 20% damage boost for short time.

It's the least popular, because it's boring and lacks visual flair. I've enjoyed all the jobs I've ever played, but MCH is just ugh.

Honestly, when HW was first released, and up until 3.2, BRD was the red-headed step child, and no one cared about them. Statics recruiting exclusively said they wanted MCHs only, no BRDs, because BRD got a huge slap in the face. I really cannot get behind the RNG proc system MCH has, and that is the main thing that keeps me from really enjoying the job at all (that and having to constantly place the turrets every trash pull and every boss). And I think a lot of people feel the same way. I wish they'd gotten rid of that for SB (and just made the turrets follow you), because I feel like more people would be interested in MCH if it didn't rely so heavily on procs, but it seems like it's here to stay. What I do see, though, is that MCH is leaning more towards pure ranged DPS compared to BRD's support DPS. Their support utilities are far more limited compared to BRD, and I'm sure they'll put out more damage than BRD, even though both are considered support DPS.
