Dear SE, instead of maximizing profits with the data-center, cash-shop, retainers, potions, etc, etc... please consider the following alternative:

Why won't you just charge us five times the monthly sub and let us play in peace?

Five times the sub and be done with it, you'll even have more money, and we won't have to put up with all of this. We'll pay, as we always do, that is not the problem, so just let us play in peace?!

Buying into items from the Cash shop is optional, you do not need to buy anything off there. Get over it...

I can't tell if you're a troll, someone with an insanely disposable income, or just insane. I know more than a few people who already don't play because the $15/month fee is too much to them in a long run, and even I drop my subscription during times I take more than a month long break because it adds up. I get a lot of enjoyment out of XIV, but I don't think even I'd keep playing if we had to pay more than the price of a full game every single month. The cash shop doesn't hurt anything in the slightest, with the only possible thing to complain about being the jump potions since it means some players get further in the game without putting in the same effort we long term players have put in. Even those don't bother me in the slightest, since those players are skipping content that I enjoyed and got plenty of hours of play time out of, so I still feel like they're not hurting my experience in the slightest. There's yet to be anything to come to the Mogstation to even remotely tempt me aside from the Ceremony of Eternal bonding, and even that I'd have done the free version of if it wasn't something special for my girlfriend and I to do together. Let the cash shop be as it is, so long as they don't start putting actual pay to win items in there, or items that are universally considered better looking than anything we can get in game.....

I buy maybe one item from the cash every couple of months. Sure, I pay for extra retainers, but my sub is still a third of the cost that you're suggesting. $75/month for a video game subscription? That's more than what I pay for my home security system.

Increasing my sub fee five times the normal amount in exchange for getting rid of the cash shop, which I make one micro-transaction every couple of month from, and which some don't purchase from at all? No, thank you.
