I mean, I didn't read OP's post because, really it's Skyrior but I didn't see where he said he wanted a love story? In fact, I didn't even say it needed a love story?? I didn't read all of the pages of this thread but recently quoted stuff didn't say it had to be a love story?

Correct. Squeenix leaves generous subtext for you to make what you want of the characters. This is enough. We don't need to be flirted with by the same or opposite sex, because the most we can do is nod, click "...", or click the one off response. There's no emotional connection to that.
