I remember pre-HW threads about how Ninja's Shadwalker and Smokescreen were going to be heavily abused. Yet the only "abuse" I've seen were in 24-man trials when a NIN was trying to affect who had tank aggro without anyone asking them to do so. A small minority will probably abuse this skill to the point that plenty of people will never see it happen.

That... doesn't really make much sense from an execution perspective, to be honest. You don't want to pull people away from mobs when they pull threat. With how delayed things are in game, they will chase down that person well before the tank gets threat back.
I believe the requirement was to be on an enmity list to be able to use the skill.
Not that the target has to have the highest enmity.

I believe it's a restriction on use that would prevent it from being used outside of battle, possibly a bit of an anti trolling measure

This, exactly. Largely, players have enough respect for each other (and desire to see things run smoothly) that they don't abuse tools like that. And while 24 man content for some reason attracts people just looking to gain attention from griefing others, that's not only the reason why content like that dies (prompting "Make the towers relevant again!" topics), but that's also why griefing is a punishable offense.

On the bright side, I see the potential for it to be a saving grace when a party member is unaware in the moment, or a newer player isn't experienced enough to move properly. All in all, be the change you want to see: You abuse it, others will too.

"healer role action "Rescue" lets you pull target player to your position.
    cannot be used without enmity"

Positives: Newbie training, co-op large dodge assistance, rushing position changes (i.e. OT pick up on other side of room since the healer is usually pretty far back as is).

Negatives: Advanced more direct God-Mode Healer PVE PKing (/drool), Rotation ruining, intentional group wiping via inoppurtune tank movement.

My Likely Use: switched on when I get that idiot who thinks its 100% my job to keep him alive and screw up his rotation as close to a dodge mechanic, or using it on the good dps who actually dodged and is right next to me to begin with and so "oops missclick" just to piss off that imbecile who doesnt dodge. Healer Rage just got more tools, awaiting dou--- justification.

Will probably use for correcting newbie friends, training not so newbie friends in new content, and trolling friends, but honestly seems pointless. I can live off of God-Mode via selective healing and insta revives.

It really needs some sort of permissions toggle or limiter...
...And, on the opposite end, a shorter cooldown if it's to compete with the other X-roles. At that point I wouldn't mind babying my dps-hog BLM in rotation with my co-healer's Rescue and the BLM's own AM and LL-teleport.

It's gonna be such a huge troll ability. My GF even said this to me. "I'm gonna kill you with Rescue so many times bae "

And the sad thing is that at the time the fix was simple: let the recipient click it off. The same could still be said of some other abilities as well, but an instantaneous ability wouldn't have that luxury. I could very, very easily murder others or cripple their DPS for a full minute using a lifegrab. And, permissions automatically given, there'd be no recourse short of reporting me. Not saying I would, but when something's that easy, I expect to be on the receiving end at least a few times by random chance. And, I'd rather not be.

And of course that ranged dps who insists on standing 100 miles away from the rest of the party, especially when I've got an expanded balance ready. So basically using it like a leash or something.
This x100. All bards need to be on a leash. I also hope we can use this in pvp... you know, on those melee who think they're invincible =_= I'd have everyone on a rope if I could.

Come on, the abilities that knock back ennemies are trolly too and people are not... Oh...

Jokes aside I'd much rather kick and report healers using this to grief people than not having a cool and useful skill like that because of a few immature players.
