Was about to ask the same question - I'd prefer to have the client in "hardware" too. Wishful thinking: getting the FFXIV CE 2.0 xD

According to the QA
Q: Please tell us about the planned timing and your current thoughts on the adjustment of food effect.
A: Adjustments to the food effect are already in the plan for the patch 1.20 or 1.21. As of now, we are trying to determine when and how much of an adjustment should be made. We should be able to deliver the details some time soon.
Regarding their effects, introducing a food item with a great effect may force every player to eat the item to participate in content. To avoid that issue, striking a delicate balance will be required. So, we are planning to add different, food-like effects from what we have now.
the weapons with a great effect did force every player to use it. (as a blacksmith)
the armors with a great effect did force every player to use it. (as an armorer)
so as goldsmith & leatherworker & weaver.
why not as a culinarian?
if you make a food like an optional choice, most of players will ignore it as well as today.
What's the need of a culinarian in Eorzea?

Final Fantasy XII had these awesome target, and enemy target lines, any chance of bringing those into XIV 2.0?![]()

is there anyway you can add switch-target while fighting? i cant even use my weapon skill on another mob when locked on one already anless i put my weapons away then switch-target but by that time i am dead... oh wheres my Dancer class? i miss that class i missed it so much i logged out of ffxiv and logged into ffxi just to play my dancer class![]()
There is a quick work around to this, although I admit it is at times tedious to work with; what I did was I went into configuration and chose for my targeting to only toggle between targets that have engaged me then what you do is, first, you "unlock" the current target and switch to the next using tab or d-pad, if you're on a gamepad. This method won't let you target anything else besides what is being fought.is there anyway you can add switch-target while fighting? i cant even use my weapon skill on another mob when locked on one already anless i put my weapons away then switch-target but by that time i am dead... oh wheres my Dancer class? i miss that class i missed it so much i logged out of ffxiv and logged into ffxi just to play my dancer class
Besides that I think there should be an agro list of sorts where one can choose between targets; as a Gladiator it can get very hard to provoke a particular enemy if its on someone else if there are many enemies in between.

Oh, here's a minor one that's been bugging me:
Why aren't we allowed to go out onto the walkways in front of the airship docks? The view from there must be amazing.
Limsa Lominsa has a small walkway leading out of its docking bay and around the wall of the main tower, and Gridania has a little platform roped off from which we could have gotten a great view of that massive water wheel assembly.
Meanwhile, Ul'dah.. Ul'dah is just plain weird. What's that huge walkway jutting out of the citadel if not the airship docking platform? I know this must sound like a bit of a rant but from day one I've looked forward to going out on that walkway and looking over the city, and now we get some.. strange internal docking area that, unlike the other cities, isn't even visible from outside.
Is this because of limitations on the current game engine that prevent us from looking out over the cities? Will it be changed come v2.0? If that walkway off the Ul'dahn citadel isn't a docking platform then what the heck is it for?
And will the Lominsan and Ul'dahn airship docking areas be non-instanced in v2.0 so that people outside the docking area can see airships coming and going, and people inside the docking areas can (draw distance issues aside) look out and see people in the city below?
This is obviously possible, as it's already the case in Gridania, however Limsa Lominsa and Ul'dah don't even support the illusion of being in the same part of the game world with faux airship arrivals and departures in the city zones proper.

I've been wanting to that from day one as well. I was extremely disappointed with how very little accessibility the city has and how it feels a lot like a "hub" than a city. San D'Oria or any other FFXI City had a much more livelier feel than Ul'dah does, I'm not saying it should be more like FFXI, I think FFXIV should be a game in its own but it just doesnt feel like a city...
I think this could be changed by adding accessibility, perhaps making the city a zone on its own; showing Civilians homes and perhaps Guards switching shifts and such.
And for the sake of spooking flamers and trolls, I am not proposing this as a priority, of course I'd first like to see a working, playable and stress free game. But this additions would also make the whole experience feel more complete.
SE you owe your fans more than you are giving them. you know you are remaking the game because it was no what people expected. and you know the finished product is not till 2.0 do the right thing wait for 2.0 and the finished product everyone expected at release, do not charge for beta test. this is not a request this is a demand. remember that the people you run off now may not forgive you for it.
I really like the materia system. I'd like to know if they have any more plans for end game character development.
Also a lot of mmo gameplay seems to revolve around a repetative grind making it feel more like a job than an entertaining gaming experience. I wonder what Yoshi-P thinks about this in regards to FFXIV.
i was wondering if there are any plans on changing how gear is coloured so as to make it easier to customize your characters look? like for example create or buy the gear and then use synthesis with a dye to change its colour.
