I do wish you got a skirt/pants along with it...I'm still not really satisfied with the gear I chose to wear with it ;_;
Well said. I play a few of those and enjoy them just as much as FFXIV. I enjoy them differently than XIV, and for various reasons, but if either were to take good ideas from the other, as a player, am I really losing in any way?
Plus, there's always those wonderfully overlooked facts that:
1. If I don't like it, I don't have to wear it.
2. If it's a MogStation item and I don't want to buy it, I don't have to. (Case in point: the $30 fat moogle mount. . . No. Never. Not even for $1)
3. If someone else likes it, buys it, wears it, or doesn't wear it, it will not affect my enjoyment whatsoever.
Because I have played MMORPGs for about 12 years now. Most Korean MMOs are nothing but trashy fanservice.
B&B galore with the skimpiest outfits people could beg for. FFXIV stays... relatively 'realistic' in terms of atmospheric clothes.
I don't understand -why- we would need a -school girl- outfit in Eorzea? And lets be honest, it'll be Miqo'tes and Au Ra dressed in them with fish net stockings on and the biggest boots they could find. We don't need to make the game more sexual.

But when I try to entice people into an epic adventure as an MMO or otherwise bring them back to the FF series, it's a hard sell when my screenshots in crowded areas/parties just have catpeople everywhere in miniskirts, stockings or even just pants. I mean I'm not ignorant enough to think that because of that the game plays any different, glamour is a legitimate endgame for some people, I could spend hours sometimes just standing around in places snapping away with printscreen, aesthetically I love this game. But you have to draw the line somewhere, I feel there's enough things that can be glammed into mock schoolie outfits already without making actually school uniforms. Just give us more things like Far Eastern dresses and bustier's and I'm happy, that's the right balance. But then again this is an entirely subjective argument, especially when I know people would like to dress up like schoolie scholars for RP.

So you have a puritanical point of view. Respectable, but I think the biggest point of contention is the term I bolded. Nobody needs anything in this game, in fact nobody needs this game. This is a thread requesting something they desire, as far as I understand it, not one that demands SE adds this or so help OP God.Because I have played MMORPGs for about 12 years now. And let's be honest, people who want to wear it will and people who won't won't. (You forget loli--I mean lalas that will wear them too)
I'm for it, for both genders. School outfits are a staple in anime and in manga. FFXIV pulls a lot of its gear designs from those genres.
Yes, some people will play out their fetishes. But, that doesn't make the outfit bad. That's just people misusing it. In addition, there is gear in the game that is far more questionable in the game to those players looking for a more rated G game. Metal armor that barely cover a woman's breasts and genitals, super-mini skirts that cover nothing, leather outfits that scream B&D or S&M with their harnesses and short bottoms, etc...
A schoolgirl outfit of a sailor top, a skirt, white socks, and brown shows is pretty tame compared to all of that. I'd say it would fit right in the game. So, would the male school outfits, which really are just shirts and pants with very clean lines.
