Tales from the Duty Finder: Some make you want to comm everyone in your party:

FC friend needed Void Ark for his Wondrous Tales yesterday, so why not help out? Entire run was like a hot knife through soft butter. My only complaint to the dps, could you please let the WHM hit the mob at least once? I don't wanna end up in that other thread about healers not dpsing.

Farming glamours in Neverreap.

Got a new bard, it's their only level 60 job.
I ask them kindly to use WM and Foe's Requiem.
Have to explain the benefits of WM.
Bard replies with:
"Fine, have it your way."

It's not like I am trying to give some advice or anything, I just want to take control of the whole party, right?!?

Some quick roulettes before maintenance.

Ran Lvl 50 with a friend (me on AST, him on BLM). The other DPS was a MCH, and the tank was a PLD. The tank was also new, and made it known at the start of the dungeon. I said "No worries" because, yay bonus!!! \0/

Anyways, both my friend and the MCH kept pulling mobs and bringing them back to the tank, who was doing small pulls. I didn't care; it was his first time in the dungeon. So I didn't expect big pulls anyways. It wasn't that the tank was squishy and couldn't handle the large pulls (he actually didn't require much else but a regen on him, allowing me to DPS 90% of the dungeon), just that he was uneasy. I scolded my friend in our LS about pulling for the tank, reminding him that he was new, and to stop pulling the mobs or I wouldn't give him the Enhanced Balance I was holding. ;p He stopped after that lol. We helped lead the tank around, and when we were in that long hallway with the door to the second boss, the MCH is pulling mobs, and just generally aggravating me (never seen someone so impatient). The Tonberry Stalker shows up, so I tell the tank to follow me to safety (since it was taking turns stabbing us), and the MCH runs off and says "Just bring all the mobs to the boss room. We'll just lock them out."

Well, there were only two mobs, and both were nearly dead. Aside from the fact that the tank was only level 51, so I knew he was getting exp from the kills, and if someone is getting exp from killing the mobs, I'll sure as heck help them kill the mobs. Not just lock them out. The MCH just keeps spamming "Come" in the chat. My Tonberry Stalker friend showed back up, so I led him down the hall, hoping the tank would run through the door towards the boss room, but instead he got kind of lost, so I went after him, instructing him to follow me. We catch up to the two DPS and the MCH is like "Lol you guys are acting like you've never done this dungeon before." At this point, I'm already irritated at them for just being impatient, and they basically didn't help us kill any of the mobs before the second boss. My friend and I both pipe up "The tank is new" (tank also repeated that he was new); MCH responds "Oh...". I ask the MCH to please try being a little more patient, and he stopped pulling mobs after that.

The last packs of trash were fun. The Tonberry Stalker kept following us, so I was shouting to the tank to follow me up towards the doors (which he did), and I was hoping the Tonberry would turn around, but he just came with us. XD So I baited him away from everyone else, quickly Essential Dignitying my friend (who had like 80 HP left), regen'd the tank, and almost died myself while I waited for them to unlock the door. We get to the last boss, and my friend was like "Whoo that was actually really exciting!" And I said "Says the one who didn't almost die. " All-in-all, it was a good run, and I did have fun. The new tank was really, really good about rotating his cooldowns, so I just know he'll become an awesome PLD at 60.

I got both comms. I was actually surprised, because I didn't expect to get the MCH's comm after I told him to stop being so impatient because the tank was new. XD

Been playing on an alt lately since I'm trying to get her to 60 and geared up before Stormblood. Things I've had to deal with so far on her:

- Hullbreaker NM with a DRK that never used Darkside, his Power Slash or Souleater combos, and just spammed Unleash on everything (yes, bosses included). A MNK that completely ignored their positionals. And a BLM that used zero aoe on multiple adds and would cast fire until they got their three Astral Fire stacks.

- A WAR in Keeper of the Lake who wiped us on the first boss because they kept spinning it around which caused it to cleave one of the smaller ceruleum tanks which made it chain explode into two of the larger tanks. They'd also cleave all of us constantly because they spun every single boss after dodging aoes or frontal cones. I felt really bad for the MNK in the group.

- A hilarious Amdapor Keep NM where everyone but me was knocked off the platform on the Demon Wall boss at 30%. I ended up soloing it as a WHM while the group cheered me on.

- A Wanderer's Palace NM with a PLD that did the smallest pulls ever, made us kill every single mob, and would tank the adds by the Tonberry Stalker making my life difficult.

- A Wanderer's Palace HM where the DRK would have Darkside up until they ran out of MP from spamming Unleash and not using Blood Price then they'd use Blood Price when their MP was fully out and Darkside had fallen off. The DRK also did big pulls sometimes and small pulls other times. They never used defensive cooldowns either. Also, for some bizarre reason on the second boss both DPS decided to walk into every standard the boss put out. They were both frogged constantly and had the fire damage up debuff on them. I was not amused :l

- A Dusk Vigil run where the BRD had level 38 and 39 STR jewelery on. DRK never used Darkside or defensive cooldowns (seriously why do tanks do this?). SMN didn't use DoTs and just spammed Ruin II.

Tbh, I use the first pull to check party and if mobs dies one by one and slooowwwwlly, all my next pulls are the smallest possible because aoe missing or unused.

We had a BLM and a BRD though ;;. Everything was nuked down fast as heck so he could have pulled more, in fact I assured him he could pull more and I'd safely keep him alive but he just ignored me. /shrug

Same here, I finally unlocked expert roulette on one of my alts, thinking I am done with players that can't play their class or won't put some effort in it, because it's still low level. Boy was I wrong. I got baelsar's wall, and the first 15 minutes the smn didn't have a pet out, the rest of the run we are missing the dot's and spamming ruin III without being even in trance, having him/her run out of mp within seconds and apparently didn't know about energy drain. The healer did literally more dmg then the smn, but my alt got blamed for not having the ilvl 270 gear. Go figure!

Is it usual to get folks in the current EX roulette with i200 weapons? I had that yesterday (both DPS with Anima weapons at the Awoken stage) and that run moved at the pace of mammal evolution. Many sky armour reinforcements at the first boss and I lost count of how many Lionsheads the Griffin threw at us. Bonus points for both DPS being very fond of eating Sanguine Blades.

In my experience, not too usual. I've only been with people with such low ilvl weapons in Expert maybe once or twice.

At least they weren't the tank. Had a tank once that was using the crafted Ravana weapon as their weapon. Aggro was bouncing everywhere.

i have had that happening to me a couple of times, lately.....and at least some of them saw their way out of the dungeon fairly quick after doing less damage a lvl 50 could do.
