If they just made personal housing like the Mog House in FFXI I don't think this would be such a problem...I mean, with the addition of the Mog Garden..I think it's rather nice. (Or whatever its called) My FC and I have a FC house since March 2014 and that is good enough for me. I think they should add a lot more wards, and come up with something more creative for personal housing..but I don't mind the auto demolish feature, I mean if I was going to quit I would give the house to someone who would use it. If I wanted to take a break..well having an active FC is a good thing, they enter the house and keep it that way :P
This personal housing system isn't that great...you can't even share it with alts or anything. I think before addressing the auto demolish stuff, they should first fix the personal housing and make is separate..how they claimed they would.
So you think its more fair that someone who doesn't play anymore gets to block a plot just because you paid for a sub once? Sorry but you can't be serious. And no it doesn't trap you into a sub it is for people who are playing active and not for people who think they deserve the house just because they payed a sub once.So due to me going on holiday this month money is tight and I decided I would take a break from FF for a short time plus there's little for me left to do in game. I am not aloud to do this though without losing my house that I have invested millions of Gil into.
Squares inability to provide enough housing is not my fault why am I being punished and pressured into paying every month? I actually entered my house a couple of weeks ago and am now getting a 10 day notice!?
Players should be allowed to take a break from the game without having to worry about losing things they have worked for in game due to squares own failings. I now have no choice but to pay for the game when I'm not even going to be around to play it. Thanks Square.
I understand why this system is in place but I do not think it is fair. It basically traps players into paying their subscription every single month. There is a life outside of FF and I don't deserve to lose my house for wanting to take a break.
Private housing is unfair anyway (just to ride on the unfair train).
The reality is people don't feel sorry for the OP because they want their house. It really is an unfair system. But hey if people do think this is fair than maybe we should start taking relic weapons away from people who invested time and effort into them for taking breaks as well. Oh right. That doesn't count because it's not limited~
We have a FC house and thats more than enough. And no i don't feel sorry if someone who doesn't pay his sub loses his house because he is NOT paying his sub, easy as pie. And comparing housing and relic is a joke in general...The reality is people don't feel sorry for the OP because they want their house. It really is an unfair system. But hey if people do think this is fair than maybe we should start taking relic weapons away from people who invested time and effort into them for taking breaks as well. Oh right. I really, really wish people would stop bandying about this particular erroneous assumption. I've already said it twice in this thread so I'll just quote to spare myself some trouble.
Also,
I know you were trying to be sarcastic, but the fact that your snide closing remark is perfectly true makes it absolutely hilarious that you tried to equate them.

You're entitled to your opinion but I assure you it's no joke. It's a good comparison because both take a lot of time and effort to acquire. Neither is something that can be earned over night or farming a primal for an RNG drop. You have to invest a lot of work to get them. Secondly, not everyone is in an FC with house so that's not really a good reason.
You want to know something that's easy as pie? The housing system just plain sucks. It's bad. It's not the players fault that SE locks them into subbing to keep it. It's not the players fault that this patch is such a dead drought there's literally nothing to hook the player into staying around until SB. I really don't understand why this community enjoys punishing players so much over little things. Instead of supporting the system people should just acknowledge it's bad and try to band together so we can get them to improve and fix the system. Instead, we only seem to support punishments towards players. And it's not always the player "taking a break" either. The reality is, life happens. Sometimes life bites us in the ass and makes us unable to play for some time, even when we want to play. But as I previously mentioned, this community would rather punish players for having a life outside the game and dealing with reality. I mean no disrespect, but the system is straight up unfair. I compared housing with a relic weapon because how would you honestly feel if you got a message from SE saying that you would lose something you worked really hard to get solely because you weren't online for a month? It's not even like it's several months. It's a month and a half. That's only half a patch cycle.

May as well save your text for another topic. I've been saying this all day but have been bashed by every known little person who would rather punish players for taking a break then band together to make it fair for everyone. Timer there, we get it. It not going away unless SE get their act together and does something to fix it. However, the vast number of people who are screaming, "WE SUPPORT THE TIMER." would rather just think of themselves rather then the game and it player base as a whole. This of course with the few people who support the timer but also would like to see an overhaul to the system, but there seems to be very few people in that respect.

"Everyone has something they hold dear, something they never want to lose. That's why they pretend. That's why they hide the truth. And that's why they lie."
That's a silly analogy for the precise reason you even stated: it's not limited. The demolish policy was introduced to prevent people from sitting on plots for months at a time; indefinitely should they choose to quit the game. It's hardly surprising Square is more willing to cater towards continuous subscribers than patch loggers. Does it justify their awful housing system? No, but let's attack the actual issue and not toss around false blame. And for context sake, I have a house and am perfectly fine with demolish given the current predicament. The reality is people don't feel sorry for the OP because they want their house. It really is an unfair system. But hey if people do think this is fair than maybe we should start taking relic weapons away from people who invested time and effort into them for taking breaks as well. Oh right. That doesn't count because it's not limited~
