Ok thanks, thats pretty much what I remembered. I guess he wasn't tabbing through then, idk. :X

I main pally and this is what I do.so my question to the pallies in the thread, what aoe threat rotation do you use?
For a typical sohl hard mode I will use Shield Oath, then run at an enemy group, shield toss first group, continue to next group, shield toss that group, position groups over steam, flash>CoS>flash>RoH cycling.
There are times though that is a group who cannot dps down adds fast enough even when the trash has vulnerability debuff :l
Got Sohm Al this morning in my Expert Roulette. Thank god because I am tired of Baelsar's Wall. I'm on AST, since I'm on the light step for her anima and every little bit of light counts when I don't really feel up to A1S spamming at the moment. Tank is a PLD, and DPS are MNK and BRD.
Anyways, everything seems okay at first. DPS was a little slow, but I had more HP than the BRD did so, not much to be done about that. First boss, the BRD dies twice because they were standing next to the larger spores that explode. The tank died after I raised to bard because they took the boss next to one and died before I could even get Essential Dignity off on them. We wipe because even after I raise them, the boss punched the MNK in the face and then decided it was my turn for some punches. The BRD asked if there was something they were missing, and I explained to them that the larger spores explode, and you want to move away from the quickly. Take two and we clear! \o/ But I started noticing something about the tank when we reached the second boss:
They were frequently stopping to Stoneskin the two DPS.
And I don't mean like pre-pull Stoneskins. I mean "Let me stop in the middle of my combo and Stoneskin myself, the MNK, and let me move a bit closer to the BRD to get them too." Don't know why, but this really pissed me off, so I started passive-aggressively Stoneskinning the tank in excess the rest of the dungeon (not enough to drain mana, but enough to be like "YOU WANT A FREAKING STONESKIN?! HERE. HAVE THREE STONESKINS BACK TO BACK."). They also would Clemency themselves after they took like 3,000 damage, and didn't use cooldowns for the Scorpion's tankbuster. Even with me throwing Disable on it, it still took them to 40% health. >.>
I don't mind if a PLD Stoneskins themselves before a boss or something, but why stop mid-rotation and just start stoneskining people?! They were barely taking any damage! Did they think I was an incompetent healer or something because we wiped on the first boss? Because we only wiped because they stood next to a large spore sac. >.>
I comm'd the BRD because they were polite. I wanted to comm both of the DPS, because the MNK was actively stunning the slimes to stop Blaze from going off, but I gave it to the BRD because of how nice they were when I told them about the large spore sacs.

Not duty finder, but had... shall we say, quite the escalation in a pug for A9S. After hopping into a learning/clear party that actually wound up being successful, a bunch of us stuck around to farm it for loot. We pick up a Dragoon and he aoe spams the adds before asking for goad. No big deal, though the Ninja wasn't looking at party chat and missed seeing it. This Dragoon spams "Goad please" no less than ten times before screaming and berating the Ninja. The next few minutes can more or less be summed up as "you fucking suck. You're an idiot." He doesn't stop though-- whipping up a charming "goad me bitch" macro. Frankly, I'm amazed the Ninja didn't troll him at this point despite initially apologizing. We continue along and the Alarum accidentally gets tugged just slightly too close to the lava pit and we wipe. Our friendly Dragoon here once again loses it and purposely pulls the Alarum on our second attempt as if to make some silly point. Afterwards he screams how we're all terrible players despite mister wonderful here being saved by my spam healing him through concussion.
Oh, and because I don't know I quite captured his apparent ego. Checking his character profile in-game, the little message read: "I've never met someone better than myself." Or something along those lines. Again, real charmer.![]()
Back to leveling MCH through the Vault, haven't touched it in a while. Kinda rusty at it, keep forgetting to do things like place my turrets. Expect myself to be fairly low DPS.
I was doing more than the rest of the party. Combined. Come on guys, get it together.
This. Exactly this. I also typically start by asking the healer "How psychotic shall be on pulls?" Because sometimes, the healer isn't confident and stressing them out isn't going to make the run go faster. Most groups these days want the biggest pulls possible, it's great.I main pally and this is what I do.

If we weren't on different data centers I'd think we got the same tank. Got one of those in EX rou last night. Baelsar's Wall >.< (I am seriously starting to hate that dungeon). Now I always SS the tank for each pull, unless the pulls are really close together. But this dude, for whatever reason, seemed to think that not only did he need SS, so did everyone else. Every. Single. Pull. Not only that, but he clemencied himself every time he lost a teeny bit of health. Seriously. That is just soooo unnecessary. And I don't mean like pre-pull Stoneskins. I mean "Let me stop in the middle of my combo and Stoneskin myself, the MNK, and let me move a bit closer to the BRD to get them too." This kinda threw me off, it was just so weird, as well as making me feel kind of insulted. So..... we kinda had an SS war. Who can SS the party faster lol. And my thinking was indeed very much "Oh, you want a Stoneskin?! Here, have a freaking Stoneskin!" >.< The last boss fight though, with the usual wipe due to dps killing me by only one of them getting their ass off the boss to get me out of the Restraint Collar, the clemency thing was actually helpful. Not just on himself, but on me, as well as using Cover. Even though he annoyed me with his SS obsession, still commed him in the end for being nice, friendly, and no finger pointing about the wipe.
What is with this PLD habit of using SS and Protect so much though? Had one in ARF the other night, SSing the party and refreshing Protect when it wasn't needed. What, are they getting healers who don't know how to use those skills or something?
