Neither are bad but I'm not sure I'd wear the full set of either, just because having windows to my flappy cheeks makes me feel weird lol. In that aspect they feel a bit similar so perhaps whoever picked the winners wanted to see some booty :P

Hm, I actually like the healing one, even if I don't even remember seeing it until now. It has a very Shino Aburame look to it with the huge coat.

I'm surprised that my favorite (by far) the Healer's Solitaire set, didn't even place.


That set, along with others, provided a LOT of detail such as the dyability and look on other races and genders, notably absent on ALL THREE contest winners. The takeaway, being, you don't need them, at all wasted effort for all future contestants. All you seem to 'need' is a front and back profile, nothing else.

And yeah, not only are all the winners JP, so are the majority of the runner ups. I think an interesting way to circumvent this (I hope, coincidence) would be to not allow text on the entries in the future, and see what happens. Because, iunno. If it's the case that JP designs are being favored here, what's the point of non JP artists participating? (There's nothing wrong with the devs having a preference for that STYLE, but there's a distinct possibility they're showing bias purely because of country of origin.)

If they wanted to make it fair they should just do the competition in a set region each year. So one year it'll be this region then next year another.

So a competition for

North & South America

Europe

Japan

Asia

Oceania etc etc

or the other alternative limit it to one winner/runner up per region or something so there's more variety?

No offense to the winners, but... there were WAY better entries in both categories. Seriously, who didn't look that is one for casters:

But NOPE, we apparently needed a singlet and chaps, that looks like it was a part of that terrible PVP tier...

In all seriousness, there were so many better contenders, I didn't even remember the winners being in the finalist list. I had to go back and double check the old post.

That looks way better. That is armor I'd actually wear.

At least one of the 'JP' winners isn't Japanese. They're a foreign player who can write in Japanese, so I don't think it's right to question the authenticity of their win based on the language (education level maybe, but nothing is stopping anyone else from doing the same).

Better is really subjective. I love the Caster winner, and while I'm so-so on the Healer one (and the organisers' massive bias towards showing the female designs most) that's nothing but my opinion.

Just goes to prove different people have different tastes. That goes doubly so when we consider the different ways East and West view fashion and beauty. With that said, I believe SE is open to our input.

So let us bring our favorites to their attention and request they be put in the game too. Politely.

I'm well aware, but there is a big difference between charging over the top 25-50mil for something compared to 2.5-10mil. :c Though to be fair after a few months it does tend to stabilise, so its really just playing the patient waiting game.

With some heavy modification the healer winner has potential to look passable on males.

The caster arse window is inexcusable though. Boobwindows were bad enough on tanks/monks for the ifrit inspired set.

literally the only thing that bothers me about that set, hope they just close it off, and totally agree tanking in that ifrit thing...looked weird on my male midlander....weird like the belly windows on female drg gear in 2.0. Those are sort of vital spots...
