First off, I must say that, given the reasoning and the screencap of the conversation, it was a smidge abusing of the kick. Yes, you asked nicely and they continued, but the actual offense was merely pre-regen. Regen, while annoying, isn't too detrimental on pulls. I, personally, would never kick any healer for using regen in this manner. This is probably why the replacement shrugged you off- I would too. I'd actually be a bit on edge if I was that healer. it really is a minor offense in the grandest of schemes.

I wouldn't call it a minor offense. Besides being incredibly annoying for the tank and possibly the DDs as well since it takes longer for the tank to get everything positioned when he/she has to run around collecting escaped mobs, it also forces the tank to take more damage from running back and offsets the regen healing.

Healers should really learn to stop doing it. If it takes a kick from a group to help them get over this bad habit, so be it.

I stood there out of frustration trying to figure out what to do (not a fan of doing it), but expected the 2 dps to attack, they just stood and watched the whm. I kick the whm for pulling though, the regen bit after i asked to stop was more of an annoyance.

for me kicking is a last resort not something I enjoy doing.

So here's a Trial Roulette that gave me a headache and had me laughing.

Queue as a WAR and get Ramuh. Rest of the group is a PLD, two WHMs, MNK, NIN, BRD, and BLM. All but myself, the PLD, and one of the WHMs are sprouts and the newbie bonus message showed up.

First thing that happened was before the barrier even dropped (MNK still in the cutscene), the BRD starts singing Mage's Ballad. A couple seconds later he switched to Foes. The barrier goes down and naturally the BRD is greeted by a levin orb to the face. The PLD who already claimed the role of main tank sprung into action, putting up Shield Oath and grabbing aggro back. He then proceeds to... run around like a headless chicken. I thik he was trying to pick up the conductivity orbs but he never gets three of them in the entire fight. The healers both put up Medica IIs and regens and then the sprout healer seems to just AFK in the corner and die to lightning bolts.

At this point I notice I've stolen aggro from the Paladin. I shrug and keeping hitting thinking the PLD would tank it back, but nope. No Provoke, no Rage of Halone, in fact he's running around chasing orbs so much he's barely even auto attacking the boss. Then the adds spawn so I go over and start hitting them. So does the PLD. Nobody else does though. The non-sprout WHM starts pointing out the adds in Party chat and telling people to stop hitting the boss. No one does. In fact, the MNK pops LB1 on the boss. Then I just type out a little mantra of mine when it comes to Trials in this game. "Kill adds or wipe." And just like the the DPS switch to hitting the adds and they go down.

In spite of the fact that the DPS were hitting the boss so much during the adds phase and I never entered Defiance, I still had aggro on Ramuh when Judgment Bolt went off. We keep going, I'm running dry on TP but the BRD isn't paying attentionto it I don't think. Whatever I can run on empty it's not THAT big of a deal here. PLD is the first one to get tethered he and his tether partner both start running around after orbs. Then he gets hit with Terror and starts screaming for Esuna. His partner finally gets the third orb and they're free. Then the last add spawns and I'm the only one hitting it. The MNK LBs the boss again and fed up I put an ignore marker on Ramuh and a target marker on the add. Fianlly a couple DPS come help me kill it. The PLD gets Terror'd again and cries for Esuna again. The WHM who spoke up earlier explained the mechanic to him, meanwhile I'm still tanking the boss without using Defiance or losing aggro, in spite of not even really trying to hold aggro or having any TP. Just when it seems like the PLD tries to take it back by starting an aggro combo, he gets tethered, starts running around again, then dies.

The boss finally goes down after that. Took about 10 minutes to kill.

Then the last add spawns and I'm the only one hitting it. The MNK LBs the boss again and fed up I put an ignore marker on Ramuh and a target marker on the add. Fianlly a couple DPS come help me kill it. The PLD gets Terror'd again and cries for Esuna again. You can actually ignore the second wave of adds spawning, as leaving them up does not cause a wipe like the first.

I don't doubt, especially since the second wave is just one add. All the same I prefer to direct people's attention to the adds just because "Kill adds or wipe" is a very common mechanic in this game.

Leveling Summoner at the moment, wanted to get a starter weapon before I start doing my anima.
Since I am leveling it faster than I am farming scripture, I decide to get the Zurvan book as a temporary placeholder.
And so I was entering the hell that is Zurvan Ex party finder and prepared myself for at least ten runs full of rage, impatient people and insults everywhere.

I joined the next best "bird farm skip soar fail and disband" PF, said hello and luckily, it quickly filled up.
We kill Zurvan after one wipe and the book drops, along with the bird.
I ask nicely:
"Can I get this book? I am basically farming totems for it"
They're like:
"Sure, I passed"
I get the book and some random gets the bird (I don't care about them, they're ugly af imo).
Out of duty, I proceed to tell my party that I am not going to leave just because I got my book, but that I would stay for more runs since they were so nice.
And then the party suddenly disbands.
I am not complaining, but it still left me a bit speechless. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This thread is becoming less about tales from Duty Finder, and more about a safe place for people to rant about how the majority of mentors are bad (an umbrella statement, which is ignorant at best) and how blowing small issues into something obnoxious. Bigred's girlfriend, you get triggered way too quickly, and you're using this thread as a safe place. Relax, move on.

But to be fair a lot of duty finder tales do end up involving obnoxious people and many just so happen to be mentors. :P

I had a Brayflox Longstop run where a Scholar used cure only.

No Physick. No Adloquium. No dots (only the Summoners dots showed up).

At least the fairy was out though. But still, a strange run nonetheless.
