Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.
Only if they should be getting a commendation.
There are always exceptions to the rules!
They did a poll before asking players their opinions. It's not like its some massively impossible undertaking now...
Course the objective then was to win back the trust of the fans. I hope they aren't backing away from that.

As Kaurie said, I don't think that's really a fair assessment. There was a huge volume of feedback and suggestions on how SE could improve on Diadem back when the initial version was in game. Here's one (of multiple) post(s) I made about it last year with several possible suggestions, for example, and I certainly wasn't the only person. The issue here is people complain about how they feel something is stale from an entirely limited scope and fail to provide a solution, or in the very least, a suggestion to bring something new and fulfilling to their own complaint. It's far easier to simply complain than it is to fix.
Did I say in my post that it had to be easy? All I said it had to be fun but when it starts pushing the bounds of fun and turning more into a job then they're missing the point. Something can be challenging and rewarding and fun in all but when they start making it where you just have to grind x amount of things to get x gear then its a job and no longer fun.
I believe he currently serves a double role, and wishes to return to serving just a single role with the game development in future.
Still, I'd surely like to know how and why you conclude that he doesn't care that he saved FFXIV and is ready to move on. Remember he has literally shed tears publicly over the fate of FFXIV and it's resurrection, as well as how he felt about the response of the players who came back much more than they ever expected with ARR. I have never seen a game director/producer who cares more ab out the game and players.
Honestly, I feel like they just need to put their foot down and stick to their guns on things. For example, we evidently have an altered raid setup coming up. Normal/Hard will continue, but odd patches will feature a true "Savage" mode only available to those who have cleared the hard raids. The difficulty will be Gordian tier and Yoshi has repeatedly said "don't cry if it's too hard".
I believe this to be a FANTASTIC step in the right direction, and hope this can allow them to make raids FUN again.
I think it's high time for the devs to do what THEY want. If they can show that they have a sense of direction and a clear vision while doing it, then I'll be more than happy to keep pitching in my $13
This is what I found:
Are there any new games you’d like to make?
Yoshi-P works both as a producer and director, but he would like to quit being a producer as soon as possible.
If anyone could take his position as a producer, he would quit in a heartbeat.
Having two positions doesn’t mean you get double the salary.
One issue is that there isn’t anyone who would say “hey, I’ll be the producer, so you can switch out, Yoshida.” He also says that he has more motivation for Final Fantasy XIV than anyone else.
Forcing himself to work is what he considers a discourtesy to the players. He believes that since he’s the most motivated of all, he must work as the producer for now.
There are many games that switch out producers and directors for each new expansion pack, but Yoshi-P says that there’s still much more he’d like to do with Final Fantasy XIV.
And until he does everything he wants to do for Final Fantasy XIV, his motivation for it isn’t going anywhere.
Of course there are players that say “Yoshida should just quit already” [laughs].
