Dragoon is coming, but will our gallant companion be joining us?

I guess no one has done the Conjurer quests, or at least read the dialogue.

An Ishgardian knight gets knocked out by a fireball, saying there was a dragon chasing him, but when you go back to the cave he fled from there's just a dragon-ish looking stone, and something says:

???: More...Time... Await me, master. We shall return to Ishgard...together.

The dragon looking stone flashes a bit with that line.

this is probably a big story element with turmoil in ishgard as they try to re-accept wyvern pets or something

I think I'd prefer to not have a dragon as a Dragoon, either - yeah I know they sound the same, but the origin of the word hasn't much at all to do with fire-breathing lizards anyway. I don't know it just feels a bit iffy to get forced to rely on a pet of some sort when I came to the class for the big pointy sticks.

What I'd like for Dragoon? Proper spears. 'Really gets up my nose I don't have the option of using just.. a spear after level 30 or so. It's gotta be some weird bident-y thing or something after that.

Sorry I guess I just don't really think of MMOs as spoilable games. And apparently I'm not smart enough to be able to figure out how lodestone handles spoiler tags.

I want the wyvern pet back long enough that I can stab it with my spear and steal its powers for myself. I hated that stupid thing. That's not saying I don't love dragons, but I don't want one for a pet either.

I'm loving LNC as it is already, and getting some more non-physical, dragon-esque DD/buff/debuff abilities with Dragoon would be pretty awesome to me.
