I'll be staying as their current formula actually matches my limited schedule at the moment. The game suddenly seems like it offers endless content.

Although I would appreciate them to try out new stuff (and if they aren't sure about what people want, just ask them)

You will not see a lot of 'I'll leave' replies here because those who don't like it left already. Pretty much only fans remain now who will keep their subs no matter what till servers shutdown. Will their numbers be enough for SE to keep old unchanging formula, who knows. After all, only money flow or lack of it can really force them to change anything.

I wouldn't say only the fans are left since the game isn't catered to the true fans.

luckily as much as I don't like some of the design choices, something keeps here so I won't be leaving anytime soon!

Staying. I enjoy the current system, I enjoy the community, and I enjoy doing content as its brought forth. I won't be spending 10 hours a day online, of course not, but even a handful more than justifies the cost of the subscription. I mean, $14.99 for a month of entertainment, even at only 2 hours a day still averages about 60 hours a month, or for the same price I could go to the movies for 2 hours of entertainment, buy a movie for about the same amount of entertainment, buy a book for maybe eight hours of entertainment, etc...

Somehow I have to put my fingers on that Squall Leonheart set right? I mean, Im like 700 days away from it. But heeeeey whatever, in 2 years we will see 5.0 and I will be happy dancing around in the set I wait for so long. So.. Do I have even any other choice?

Been here since 1.0 and have no intention of leaving the game. I take breaks from all my games on occasion but that's because I like gaming...I don't live it.

That doesn't mean I approve of absolutely every decision se makes nor partake in every aspect of the game Oo.
I never do in ANY mmo I have ever played so I don't expect that I would in this one either.

I have suggestions constantly for se, that's never gonna change ♥, but overall I am pleased with the parts of the game I enjoy most.

Same line of thinking for all the other mmos I currently play on occasion and for those I have been paying consistently for, for over 12+ years now.

I know I posted already but I suppose it bares saying since I said "the mmo I want". I have some hope for Conan, but feel it will fall flat like many of the others the last few years that I have tried as an alternative to XIV. They always disappoint and XIV always seems at least to me, to get close enough, though it is never quite right.

I love big sandbox-like mmos, though they be fewer and fewer as we go. Linear story progression kills me, in that sense games like ESO that have a MSQ but leave it open for you to wander around as you like are better. But that game is a mess. BDO was another that I wanted to sink my teeth into, but there were endless issues I could not get past making it a gold panted turd. So I wait for each mmo that comes out, and each time I try it and get upset by it and return to XIV as it isn't perfect on any front, but is over all good enough.

In a way, FFXIV is the Red Mage of mmos, Jack of all, Master of none.

I decided to come back to the thread and elaborate more on my earlier post.

The formula as is more or less works for SE and is perfect for the casual players that do make up the majority of most playerbases, as a result it makes the game really easy to max out where you need to be and go do other things. For example, I could login once a day for a few days, bust out an ex roulette and have plenty of progress done or on the other hand I could play extra and avail myself of some of the other activities in the game. For example, since 3.5 launched I've devoted all of my time to PVP, a part of the game I never touched in the year or so I've been playing. But if I just wanted to cap my scripture tomestones and only focused on that part of the game, I could do so. This game offers you progression whether you devote a little or a lot of time to it and I really appreciate that aspect of it.

Now I don't think formula is perfect. For example, I believe the highest end tomestone cap and other weekly caps should be on a per Job or per Role basis rather than the per character basis that we have now. I'm not a fan of the tomestone cap or the gear caps either, I already know the usual response to this, "but it stops players from getting all the gear in a week and burning out!" To which I say, if a person decides they want to do that, that should be their decision to make, it shouldn't be made for them. I also wasn't a fan of the Alexander system for getting weapons in Midas and Creator, I would have preferred straight tomestones from them or if we have to have the item to turn in for the special tomestone for the weapon, make it three weeks instead of seven.

Additionally I don't like the expert roulette system due to the fact that there are only two dungeons in it. I'm fine with having a daily dungeon you have to run, it's perfectly acceptable to me. But only having two isn't enough. I'd rather see it be 5-7 dungeons at the minimum. So while I think the formula works, I want to see it further improved upon and I can understand why people may get sick of it after awhile.

I like the formula, so i'll be staying. There are improvements I wish to be made, but as long as I'm still having fun, its all good.
