I've always wanted at least one of the mounts but sadly I started way too late and queues were bad so I missed a chance at the red one, wanted that most. PvPers deserve their rewards and they should not be simply given out to people who do not put in effort. Or else their achievements are devalued.
However I propose an idea.. it would allow players to have chance at all mounts while still requiring more effort than the ranked winners.
I propose.. that the Hellhounds(and possibly future mounts) be purchasable via a Wolves' Den vendor with 4 million wolf marks. You read that right. 4 million wolf marks. 4,000,000. Each.
As insane as it sounds, I think a Fenrir-style grind would be a great addition to PvP as we'd finally have something to spend our capped marks on. And needing 4,000,000 marks each... I'd say that would take effort. And maybe some medicine.. But it's a worthy trade for not hitting top 100 or 30.
And they could even make a Kirin-style achievement for collecting all 4 *evil laugh*
Here's how this could be done:
1) Players buy tokens that cost 20,000 wolf marks.
2) To limit inventory bloat and 4 stacks of tokens, players with 5 20k tokens will be able to trade them in for 1 token representing 100,000 marks.
3) You will need 40 of the 100k tokens to trade for the mount.
Possible Problems and Solutions:
1) Wintrading. To combat this, remove the 250 mark reward from Light Party feast. Either that, or actually ban the people or find some method.
2) Wolf mark boost actions. I say remove them from the game. The numbers are already inflated as it is so I don't think we need those actions.
PvP needs to have long-term goals that aren't solely decided by the RNG that is a bad team. It would require 4,000 frontline wins in a row to reach 4 million. So no one will easily get a mount. But people should have an option. Even if it's medically lethal.
EDIT: only available after seasons are over
