Yeah but the thing is... this is SAMURAI and REDMAGE were talking about. these effects will last much longer than people are expecting. tanks and healers will suffer in terms of numbers for much longer than a month. The sad part is some players want SAM regardless if its a tank or dps, so people like this who are tank now will become a dps due to their desire to play the job no matter what.
Then the forums represents a small amount of the playerbase. In the survey roughly 20% said they would switch to DPS. That % could be a little lower, or it could be alot higher. Example when DRK came out. The hype eventually died down but many people stayed DRK. I for one went from a SMN main to a tank. There is no doubt the opposite effects can happen.
The battle changes are suppose to make DPS more appealable due to rotations, cooldowns, etc so I think that would only add more fuel to the fire.
Hoping to see a big XP increase from PotD and fates
ill probably level both of them up but ill be a warrior main forever i imagine, been playing it for a looong time now cant see myself changing
I'll be sticking to healer BC my que's will be most likely instantThen afterward when thing settled down I'll level up the new jobs.
I would probably just raise it out of boredom and to master it. Not to mention relics but can rotate as a primary. New content just give more options :P
Most likely still playing AST, but might change my main DPS job depending on how SAM and/or RDM plays.
I'll do the same as I did for HW - SCH to 70 through MSQ, then try out the two new jobs to see if I actually like the gameplay. I was leveling all to 50 when HW came out, then got all to 60. I found I really enjoyed DRG gameplay, so I practiced that for a secondary job. I just feel more secure healing new content (and queue times are nice).
Oddly enough, the 3 statics I've joined were all led by SCHs, so I mained DRG for raiding and SCH for roulettes.. Alex NM and 24 mans depended on queue times/how I felt. I did eventually switch to SCH for raiding in my current static due to restructuring. I may prioritize DRG to 70 over trying new jobs to be safe.
Well scholar's my main and I intend to stick with healing (as usual). However red mage is possibly my favourite job ever in the FF series, so I'll probably end up unlocking it the first chance I get (let out some of my pent up hype), then doing the MSQ as scholar and then level red mage. So I'll probably end up doing the 4.0 MSQ much faster than usual =P but I'll still main healer at the end of it all cus that's most fun for me =)
Here's one that hints at it:
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ing-gear%21%21
"This time, entitled "Remote magic DPS / HEALER compilation", two divisions are held at the same time! Remote Magic DPS includes "Black Mage" / "Summoner" as well as "Red Mage" "
I've switched between healer and DPS a lot. Currently, I've been healing in end-game stuff, but I plan to try out both SAM and RDM. If I like either of them a lot I will probably play them for awhile. I still tend to go back to healing after awhile, though.
If they nerf Warrior and make its dps equal to DRK and PLD - im going to switch to Samurai. I am gonna love the eternal ques, thanks Yoshida!
