Also, you should let the community know who they are. Not so much for "shaming them", dont worry human trash like those things dont get embarrssed but rather proud of what they did, but for the sake of preventing others from falling prey to the same fate. Post it on rediit forum everywhere.

Devs should just implement a sort of passcode system to the FC chest. That way if something like this happens again (someone getting promoted that isn't intentionally supposed to get promoted under normal circumstances), they still can't touch the FC chest because if they were supposed to be at that rank in the first place, someone would have told them what the passcode was.

Hell, go a step further. Have the option to outright hide the contents of the FC chest except for those that have actual access to it. That way it'd be harder for the vultures to determine if they wanna attempt to manipulate their way into stealing a FC's resources. It'd certainly be embarrassing as hell if a FC intentionally let a vulture get access to the FC chest only for said asshole to find out that it's filled with nothing but fine sand.

Precisely. It's always better to have more options. It makes zero logical sense to remove an option that is potentially beneficial just because it can be abused if the leader is careless.

And that's what it is. Carelessness. You can choose not to use the mechanic at all and never risk what happened to the OP.

I don't think the mechanic of promotion/demotion should be removed, but I do think hierarchy of ranks needs to be part of that mechanic. At this point there is the fc leader and then everyone else. The promote/demote mechanic already goes in order, but it doesn't see a place to stop until you hit the ceiling (leader). It should be changed so the promote ceiling is either just below or at the rank using the mechanic.

Similar thing happened when I was on Mateus and it was due to an oversight... and I was a tad annoyed that they wouldn't listen afterwards.

New guy joined and then left within an hour. I was about to go into a roulette when I saw this and we were joking about when I suggested to check the FC chest. I wasn't even being serious but someone did and we found out the truth quickly. The new guy cleaned out everything he could get and left. Same thing where the GMs couldn't do anything unfortunately. Though what annoys me is that they decided to remove all chest permissions for anyone not an officer when what could've easily been done was to set a probationary rank. The majority of us had been there since the early days of the FC, I was a founding member for that one too, but that suggestion lay dying very quickly.

Still those ppl put a lot of time an efforts to get what they have,is a virtual currency but is real life time they put into it.

In this scenario, I know for a fact that someone will still give out their passcode. But I do love this idea.

This is incredibly disheartening to hear about but avoidable. In my FC everyone has access to the FC actions and are able to buy actions, we also all have access to the fc chest BUT there isn't anymore than 400k in the chest and low level crafting materials in there. I love my FC and the friends there but I would never place my own gil or important items in that chest. Also a set few (been there since the beginning or a very long time) have access to our airships. Learning from this experience would probably be your best bet at this point. Carry ooooon!

The FC I am a part of is fairly big and when I see someone join and then leave like an hour later, makes me wonder if they were trying to steal from us...
