I had been disappointed by the no new race, no new tank and healer.... now this. I had really would have liked to see expanded character customization, I mean really really wanted to see that happen given the lack of the previous two things. *sighs* I may end up just retiring my Warrior of Light at this rate seeing the things I was really hoping for aren't happening.

To be fair, glamour is really kinda' an end game for a good majority of the players of this game. They really care about their character and how it looks because, with the way this game is, character looks and glamour are unfortunately some of the only lasting content that people don't get bored with. New areas are expected with an expansion, reworked actions I won't defend 'cause they shot themselves in the foot with how much bloat there is and it's basically going to be a copy/paste of the 2.0/3.0 patch cycle. People were hoping for something a bit more concrete than content they will blow through and get bored with after grinding it for 239187259812 hours. I can see both sides of the argument.

I dont know why you act so negativ about esthetics and looks in GAME so much. Of course I do not mind having more zones, nice looking dungeons and all. But why can we not have both of those? I mean, we pay a subscription every month. We buy from the cash shop our fantasias and mounts. We even pay lots of money for expansions and their Collectors Edition.

And just 1 thing to add to new areas and such. In the end you tend to never visit a map after doing the quests there. You dont even do Dungeons if you do not have to gain anything from them. But your character, you look at it 90% of the time. In cutscenes, in fight, while you do just screenshots or nothing. It is also annoying to see all the time a Doppelganger running around who looks just like you. Cause you have only 4 preset faces. Neat, right?

New areas are nice... for the first 4 times you are there. Reworked actions? They haven't said anything nor will they until May. And the content updates? It's a repeat of what they've done over the last 4 years.

The short? No, but even I was looking forward to the possibility of at least making ear/horn/fur patterns/ eye shape based on which face option you picked and let them be selected individually. You know, things already in the game, just separate them. Things you see on a normal basis on everyone.

Lol and come on, are the majority of people covering these customizations up? No, not with glamors. The majority, vast majority, of helmets etc are awful looking and just not fun. Most people have their characters face exposed, it makes you more recognizable and a presence in the game, and you begin to relate more to the character you built. Customization is HUGELY important in MMO's, its why Black Desert Online despite being a pretty shallow and terrible game is so darn popular, people are drawn to that customization.

FFXIV needs to step up the customization game, it needs to do abit of updates to the character mesh as well. They look pretty decent but they could really take it up another level with current technology, especially when 64 bit should be the only supported OS type for gaming from this point onwards.

But yeah butt slider, chest, shoulders, we need more deformation on the model.

I wouldn't mind occasionally have a full helmet on my glamour, if not for cutscenes. Even when I'm not doing MSQ, occasionally I'll do a sidequest and have my entire head covered by a trash can in the cutscene and it just looks ridiculous.
