Although i'm sure the endgame hub (idyllshire equivalent) won't be inside kugane, but somewhere else.
Kinda sad about it but also love the construction concept of the endgame hubs so much.
Still cool tho if we got a new city worth being in!

In Vegas, they said the new Idyllshire is going to be Rhalgr's Reach, on the Ala Mihgo side, and that we should get there sooner in the story than in previous stories (i.e., no waiting until 67/68).

Edit: Though I might be misremembering, as almdia says on the next page,

I might be misremembering but I thought they said that was the first map we would reach and our "base of operations", that doesn't sound like Idyllshire to me, just sounds like the equivalent of Foundation.

Absolutly love the design of Kugane. It looks so different yet still maintains the FFXIV feeling for me. After nearly two years of having Ishgard's Aetheryte as my home point i can't wait to change it to Kugane's

The eastern aesthetic never really does it for me. Especially because whenever it's done it usually gets pretty cliche heavy really quickly, we've already seen the "too cool for school" samurai cliche in the cinematic. When WoW did the eastern theme, i was skeptical at first, but it turned out to be very well done from the soundtrack to the scenery, and nothing really too over the top with cliches. I hope FFXIV does as well with it.

I like how this map implies that whomever the cartographer was just decided that maps were hard and just painted a bunch of clouds over most of it.
