Fair, You got me on the collar, but I'll dismiss things like the sleeves as artistic emblishment because it wouldn't be the first time Mogi has fluffed up their character art.

The problem with citing a nebulous group of people to support your point is that the same could be said in opposition and all you get is a stalemate. I don't think any of this really needs to be addressed, because there's plenty of options for both sexes to choose from. Not everyone is going to like the same things, but it isn't just men playing female characters who want what would be dismissed as revealing 'fanservice' outfits, you know.

If you wanted to look "masculine or rough" maybe the first course of action wouldn't have been selecting the absolute daintiest race, because that's already going to be a hindrance (but not an actual roadblock) to whatever aesthetic you're looking for. Even a midlander is easy to make look "masculine or rough" by comparison.

Watch that. We're not talking about male players, we're talking about players of male characters, many of whom are female for the same reason many female characters are played by males. And your issue is the same as mine, essentially, because those sexier/girlier alterations to your gear are done for the same reason the gender locking disparity exists: to benefit male players looking for eye candy, without risking offending them by giving female players the same opportunity.

Though in my case, I'd be just as happy for my male character to get some frills, or be stuck with the skirt(shorts?)-and-tights version of things. That sort of thing really needs to be made toggleable, or at least have the other version made available for glamour so people can decide for themselves.

In the end, all I want is for everyone to have the same options available to them.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C0aHFQiXEAAacTP.jpg This is why I said you should have looked it up, but here. That's no light "fluff".

The supported idea is no one wants to be locked to how they want to look because of the gender they chose for their character. The problem comes from a different source, but they both are rooted by the same ideology by those in charge. Men can't have dresses or more feminine attire simply because those in power have issue with men dressing in such a way outside of comedic efforts. So are you to say "well these players like having this look" for female-based variations should always be just accepted? "Well people don't want to see men wearing girly things" then means those playing male characters simply must just accept because some opposing party feels differently about the matter.

It'd be best if attire be kept uniform and much greater options be introduced, and not hampered by archaic concepts.

Yeah, my bad, gonna edit that. And yeah, it's why I wholly support any efforts such as yours and your own. Not just for myself, but because it's a ridiculous thing to still do in this age when people have become much more free with expressing themselves.

I respect and support any threads related to this kind of thing.

WAY too many games are left in the hands of devs who wants to sell more my making eye candy for male players. Just look at Tera, Black Desert and hell, even Phantasy Star 2 if you want to have an exemple within the Japanese market.

If equality is ignored and male players/female character players always get what they want with no resistance, then this MMO will become a boobfest and it will lose all my and many other's interest like many other games.

The message to the devs of FF14 should be clear. If you want to make eye candy, make eye candy for male characters too and I'll be a happy customer.

Of course people will ask for the rest, especially when there are more items in the game for female characters, or when things don't make sense: Men can wear home grown flowers but not the Makai Flowers.

So if things get changed? What exactly is the problem...or what is YOUR problem?
Things being changed is a solution.
Where did I say I have problem?
Now it is you have problem that you can't equip the gear for female on your male character.
We are here to solve YOUR problem.

I'm normally opposed to exclusivity, but I have to say, keep the super feminine outfits for females. Really don't want to see catboys running around in pink miniskirts and stockings all the time.

What about us Male Roe? I'd like to wear a miniskirt every know and then to let the "kids" hang a bit. Sometimes wearing tight leather and stuffy armor is a bit too much...

You should see some of the Roes on Balmung. You don't need skirts to be fabulous.
