Dear Square Enix, can you remove the race restrictions on hairstyles?

I don't understand what makes the hair is so unique to races. It's just a hair! What I see unique is highlander without eyebrows (I hate this uniqueness tho), not by hairs.

Male Au Ras have the ability to toggle on or off their eyebrows ... so not even male highlanders are "unique" in that regard anymore.

That said, it seems as if many of the 1.0 races/sexes have shared hairstyles. Whereas the sexes that were added in 2.0 (male miqo'te, female highlander and roegadyn) have hairstyles unique only to them. Then there's 3.0 with the Au Ras having even more race-only hairstyles.

As other's have said, horns and miqo'te ears aren't too much of a factor. We see miqo'te with afros (how are their ears that long!?)

Well I don't think that's really fair to say about eyebrows then, unless you meant the option to have them hairless (only Highlander males have hairless eyebrow "option" right?). Because, well, eyebrows are just hair too lol. And it's not lore that highlanders don't have eybrows, they do, the males just shave them off ritually every four hours on the dot so they never have a shadow xD. (4hour part made up, shaving is not made up though).

I suppose if a race had like medusa snake hair then it'd make sense to be race specific, but we don't have anything like that at the moment.

Hopefully the team doesn't need to see the thread popup over and over to actually give the devs feedback.. I mean if its really obscure maybe they do to make sure its actually "real" but lol. I imagine the report isn't just "What I Bayohne want, that the NA side may have talked about". I have a feeling they communicate a lot of stuff they personally wouldn't care to see in game :P. A mistake I may have made in the past (haha, I recall a few threads I should have just said my peace and stop unless I have a "NEW" thing to add - I mean I tried, but could have done better).

Unfortunately they have to translate and then get the information cross seas and then read and then responded to and then translated back and then queued up for proper delivery, so there is a lot of time involved. And even then if they (Devs) read something they think could be interesting in the future (like 2 years from now) they probably would be wise not to respond to the thread and be like "please look forward to it, 5 years from now!", unless the thread has crazy traction. The benefit of being able to post on the dev's default language being you'd probably get more musing and general response than a more formal line of communication like ours.

Also probably doesn't help that they're secretly working on a lot of the finishing touches to presentations and the game itself (expansion stuff, probably a busy period right now - unless they're actually that ahead of schedule). So they're probably more mum and distracted than usual.

Tl;dr: I wouldn't worry that our CM team has seen it now, it's quite a decent thread - just have to wait till the dev team has something worth saying lol. No means saying stop posting, just trying to ease your mind that I feel fairly confident someone has seen this 10 page thread (my confidence is probably worth 1 onze but hey w.e). & If the dev team only responds to riot threads then maybe they should switch it up haha. Careful self bumping a thread too many times though~

Race and gender restrictions could use some readjusting honestly. I don't see the point in restricting hairstyles at all.

I would love this. There are a lot of hairstyles restricted to hyur, roe, au ra etc. that I would love to use on my miqo. It's a let down that we keep getting so many that are short in back, spiked in front and parted on the same side as the lightning hair.

Thanks for actually giving me and everyone else who supports this a good response, it means a lot. Though unfortunately it seems like they only respond to threads that are a riot, and it's really depressing honestly.
