Cancelling Attunement

I've been PvPing for a bit now and for a while, been trying to find ways around Healer's Attunement ability. It's annoying!

The only things I know about combating Attunement are:

-DoTs can still hurt them while in Attunement.
-DoTs inflicted during before Attunement do full damage. While DoTs inflicted during Attunement do much less.
-Circle/Field AoEs still hurt them

I read on a forum that they could be pushed out of it but using Hawk's Eye + Blast Shot did push them but it didn't interrupt Attunement. So that was wrong..

I was thinking though, would it be possible as a SMN to use Hawk's Eye + Wither, an attack that removes a beneficial effect(like Attunement), as a way to remove Attunement completely?

Pretty sure I've cancelled an enemy healer's attunement with AST's retrogradation a couple times. Might be wrong, but I could swear I used it once in the past few days on an enemy healer with no additional buffs and it was wiped.

You can cencel it, but it both enhances evasion and lower to 10% damage received, so hawks Eye is a good thing if you need to finish him if he is REALLY low in HP,
even because a healer shouldn't attune without a regen or any other option to survive right after.

To cancel it you can use Wither, One Ilm Punch, Retrogradation and Glory Slash but only as SMN you can surely land a dispel because of Hawks Eye is among its crosskill,
but again all those dispel skills remove a random buff, so you have to be lucky.

You CAN cancel it (I try with Retrogradation simply because the move doesn't see a lot of action from me otherwise in Shatter except to try to troll DPS during ice by slapping off one of their good offensive buffs), but I agree that the general strategy should be to handle it as you described. The amount of Attunement trolling I see healers do during ice (and have it actually be successful!) is alarmingly high considering how many low HP melee I sometimes see booking it away from ice with Sprint up.

SMN with hawk eye+ wither can cancel it I think you misunderstood smth I dont think anyone said blastshot can lol. Thing with it you cant decide what gets removed so its still rng.

Fire Iv> Scathe, understandable, could been some lag or in midcast, however flare and melee lb after that, not so much, lamo, rip mp.

also for the attunement "trolling" on ice, givin how we can't do anything else it is justified, however I hate "balance" being defined by the clueless.

Not always. When I have limit break up as a melee I will sit there in front of you while you are attuned and wait for your timer to hit 1 second so that I can use your attunement as a free stun to limit break you lol. Because of latency if your HP is below like 75% you are pretty much dead since the limit break will go through and your "instant" heals if you have any wont go off in time.
