If there's something history has taught us then it is that no civilization will last forever.

Also, this "us and them" attitude really amuses me. I don't know about you guys, but having lived on the internet for the past 6 years I feel more like a netizen than anything else. You are my equals and fellow countrymen as long as we understand each other. I don't give a shit about your skin color or place of origin, I can't see you through my display anyway.

    I agree with the OP

Regional segregation is one of the worst problems in nowadays' mmorpgs, and make for a much more boring environment, the global servers are a massive asset to FFXIV, and regional servers should never be implemented, as even if they were just an alternative, they would inevitably split and fragment the community.

A fragmented community is an hassle FFXIV can definitely do without. No, simply, no.

Just my two cents, and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one.

i for one love separate servers, because inevitable japanese will always go to japanese server where language isnt a barrier in a global servers. same as germans, spains etc etc. eventually old idea's die.

Choice is always the best option imo.

LOL at force them to play with us, seriously ??!!

Its makes me laugh how SE can give us a simple choice and yet people will still complain.

This whole concept of regional servers ruining the game is nonsense. First of all, I'd like to play with people I can communicate with on a very fast and efficient basis. I can't do that with the auto translate because it rarely has the phrases I want, nor does it have the ability to pick out the phrases in a timely manner.

Yoshi is giving people a choice. There will be global servers and regional servers. If you don't like being region specific, then don't pick it. Simple as that.

Splitting the servers is one of SE's greatest decisions here. FFXI was worse off for not doing it. End game japanese and english players only created more animosity between them, there was no reason for us to play together.

I agree with OP. I personally enjoy interacting with non-English speakers. In an odd way, it feels quite rewarding.

Sure it can be a challenge to work the auto-translate system but I really am thankful that it is there.

I don't really care so much about servers separated by language, but I'm all for the ping reduction you can get with regional servers.

The whole barely .5 ms you'd probably gain?
