I found out recently that the only reason my friends from Spain don't have their (our) own version of the game is because Spain doesn't require translations by law, unlike France and Germany. Lucky for us, there's a fairly big LS in my server that is all Hispanic. And more than half are Spaniards...

I never did understand why Spanish wasn't supported in XI and then now in XIV. It is such a widely spoken language. Now I know.

Theres nothing wrong with JP people wanting a server that only speaks japanese, I dont mind sharing a mixed language server but being in a EU/US only server would mean you can understand and speak to everybody

it's for Japanese culture Japanese people are embarrassed to speak English cause they don't like to be embarrassed. I'm all for having a global server but i think we and jp people will benefit more on separate language servers.

Anyway, all three missing gender/race combinations are coming with 2.0, at which time everyone will also have the chance to go through the character customization again and re-choose their race, hair, eyes, etc.

I see issues of "FFXIV is turning into WoW" comments all the time, but then again, sometimes I wonder:

I mean really. You said it yourself, it's going to be a WoW clone, albeit a shinier, cleaner WoW clone. Is that really a bad thing?

Jokes aside, it's too early to tell. We will only know once it's out and once we play. Only then can we pass the final judgement if it's a clone or not. Until then, it's all speculation.

I have never played WoW so I don't know what all the hubbub is about....bub. I can only judge by what I have seen in FFXI. Right now the game is starting to go beyond passable and should reach excellence in a year. If that is what it means to be a WoW clone then I am all for it.

Back on topic: I can't wait to see FFXIV 2.0, it's like seeing a whole new game... and the pre 2.0 story that current players get just makes it all the more exciting...
