Well, Crystals and/or Blessing of Light are not the same as the Echo. While they may have their own Crystals, I'm more looking for those explicitly stated to carry one or have used one (such as Krile, as PArcher mentioned).Technically, yes. The fifth group would be the people who help the Warrior of Light slay various enemies such as the primals. SE plays fast and loose with this, but its pretty heavily implied the Warrior of Light has 3-7 close allies who possess the echo or extremely strong luck. Not to mention at least 16 other adventurers who are highly skilled and well equipped who aid the Warrior of Light in feats that are well beyond the Warrior of Light's caliber, such as the Crystal Tower or Shadow of Mhach.

Just so it's not left hanging:
Hydaelyn calls you Warrior of Light right after the Praetorium falls and again after you overpower Midgardsormr's block on the final Crystal of Light and restore your access to the Blessing. Both times it's followed by, "Beloved <son/daughter>."
The Ascians also use the term (in reference to Hydaelyn's Champion) a few times once they understand what you are.
"I shall refrain from making any further wild claims until such time as I have evidence."

Well it was stated multiple times that she is one of Hydaelyn's chosen and avoiding spoilers there are multiple events later on in HW that show she fights for order and light and not darkness.
In the lore book there is more than one text where it hints that we often (if not all of the time) fight alone. Especially primals like Ravanna or Thordan show this. I take those little sentences about gathering other adventurers more as a ingame way of saying that this is group content. A lot of it would not make sense otherwise. (How big is the chance that you find another bunch of good adventurers with echos to fight Ifrit? At that time we did not know about tempering. Why would the beast tribe not notice that we suddenly have more people with us? Why would we not just call for reinforcement if we are able to move freely? Why would they not chain us up too? All of this only truly makes sense if escape lake was only there for ingame reasons. Otherwise if you cant beat Ifrit you would never be able to leave.) If we have so many good adventurers as lore friends, why did we need to find NPCs adventurers that will help us with steps of faith? Did we leave all of our friends behind in castrum since we only escaped with Thancred? Why are we the only one that get the glory if we always have others with us at the primals? And more.
I really believe that we are truly alone most of the time. (Would be kinda lame to beat one single human like boss with 3-7 other people)
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
My take on this is whenever there are in-action cutscenes (for lack of better term; cutscenes in the instance that drive the story, like in CM and Prae and Coil and Alexander and such) with other players in them (except opening and closing cutscenes) we have friends helping. If its just the intro and instance cleared cutscenes where others are shown, we were alone. So the likes of Castrum Meridianum, Praetorium, all of Coil, and so on we aren't alone, there are others in nearly all those CSs. But Alexander, Aetheriochemical Research Facility, Waring Triad, Titan, Steps of Faith (both) and so on we are on our own.
Even then, these "others" aren't other Warriors of Light; they are exceptional adventurers hand-picked by us to accompany us when we absolutely need help. Whether they have the Echo or not is unknown, since none of the instances where others would be have the threat of tempering (yes, Coil does ultimately, but Alphinaud and Alisae don't have the Echo as far as we know, and they went with us)

I take it that most of the "canon" members of the Crystal Tower raid series were Noah members from the Sons of Saint Coinach, Students of Baldesion and Garlond Ironworks and that the Shadow of Mhach is an operational by the Redbills that include the WoL as an honorary member.

Just throwing this out there JP client has Y'shtola directly theorizing on her being warrior of light in Flight of Excelsior CS
Transcript: 彼女もまた、間違いなく、ハイデリンに導かれた光の戦士だったのね····。
She too was, without a doubt, a warrior of light guided by Hydaelyn.

I can understand that but I have lots of problems with dungeons like Prae since we are alone in the cutscene after the fight with Ultima and we barely made it out alive with Thancred. (And the others only worried about us too) For me this would mean that either we in canon went in there with others adventures, fought our way through parts of it but the whole fights after going in the dungeons is without them. (Maybe they stayed behind to help against other fighters) Or we are mean people and left our friends to die.My take on this is whenever there are in-action cutscenes (for lack of better term; cutscenes in the instance that drive the story, like in CM and Prae and Coil and Alexander and such) with other players in them (except opening and closing cutscenes) we have friends helping.
Its getting even more confusing thanks to the different languages..In the english version the bosses of Prae are talking as if more than one person is there. (Not sure if Gaius is only talking like its only one person or not) In the German version its only about us as the Warrior of Light.

I do remember some NPCs tell you to bring a few adventurers with you before starting the trial/raid. So they acknowledge that you do got backup, but because you're the main star, the story focuses on you.
Yeah, its not perfect, but it works pretty well considering how the story is told.
Specifically about Prae though, its likely your companions were killed by Lahabrea. Remember, you get the Blessing of Light buff during that fight; since your companions wouldn't get that, you could make the assumption that they were overcome by his attacks, whereas you shrugged them off thanks to the Blessing.
Can also just go a happier route and say they stayed back to look for survivors (even though that also proved to be bad...or maybe not)
