I did my weekly Weeping City today as a blm and it was uneventful until we got to Forgall. When the main tank pulled, I, along with 3 other blms, dropped our leylines near the entrance so as not to be too close to the adds and their green puddles.

But once we started with our first couple fire 4's, the mt suddenly decided that he didn't want to tank Forgall where every other tank usually positions him. Instead, he pulled the boss up against the wall near the exit, far out of reach of all the blms. So not only did it cancel our casts, but it forced us all to move closer to the boss. If you've never played blm, just know that there is nothing more heartbreaking than the sight of 4 spinning, abandoned leylines, lined up in a row of failure.

This is why I developed the habit of running to the side of any circular boss arena before starting my rotation, instead of hanging out at the entrance. But that reminds me of the time I was fighting Echidna, and 4-5 of us BLMs dropped Ley Lines at the same time, in the same general area. We split up to dodge an AoE, and then simultaneously had an "oh-shit" moment when we realised we forgot which Ley Lines was whose. Good times...

Although in Xelphatol, at the second boss, I hate it when a tank pulls the boss over to the other side of the arena, while I have my BLM ass parked directly in the middle of one of the walls so that On High doesn't interrupt my casts.

Had a rude healer in A9 normal yesterday.

My boyfriend and I have been working slowly on tank mounts so when we go to do weekly Alex drops we both go tank together.

Right now I am working on WAR he is on DRK.

We get by Faust and move to main boss and even at beginning like we both notice he isn't really getting healed much. The healers didn't let him die at that point but they let him drop dangerously low before we saw any heals.

Second adds plop down and I grab the generator as usual and drag the adds over to the fire quadrant. During this boyfriend isn't getting any heals and he says to me "I might die, I am cycling cooldowns and trying to soul eater some HP, but Im getting no heals so be ready to pick up main boss."

Just as the adds die my BF also goes down so I quickly voke the boss and pull it away from the party again while he gets raised. Faust drops and he OTs it since I had to get main boss. Now during this the SCH says "sigh i can never leave anyone in charge"...now there was NO communication before this, so its not like the SCH asked the AST to main heal or anything. So basically MT died because SCH didn't take Cleric off to help heal.

I didn't say anything since it was during the fight and yeah it was a snide comment, but the AST ignored it and I didn't want to start a typing fight during the run.

At the end of the run after we clear though? This SCH goes and slaps the AST multiple times. I told my boyfriend like "...really why was that necessary?" So this time I responded to defend the AST and I said "don't be an a**"

Apparently the SCH's best intelligent response to this was "i can an will be"

Yeah the AST failed to heal MT too, but they didn't try to place the blame squarely on the other healer to try to duck their own responsibility like this SCH immediately did.

This SCH's ego was so big they had to try to duck responsibility for a tank dying by pretending it was all the ASTs fault. Unfortunately, rude SCH, you are also a healer. So if a tank dies specifically from lack of heals you cannot just pretend none of it is your fault. Your icon is green too and you had the power right there to save someone from dying but your cleric stance was too important to actually do your main job.

Oh they were also a mentor and called us all "scrubs" before leaving...oh the irony lol

As a main healer myself yeah I can solo heal a9 normal if someone asked me to, but you don't go into DF and force your healing ability standards onto another healer. If they need help you help. If you need to take off cleric you take off the darn cleric and do your main job. This is from someone who DPSes like mad on healer a lot of the time too, but if I ever see a healer in 8 person content struggling I always take cleric off and immediately assist them; you know because teamwork is a thing.

I got Castrum with my boyfriend. He was leveling his AST at the time and I tanked for him. Anyway we were at the part near second boss, when you go up two stairs to make something explode.

I tanked one side and the other tank grabbed the other side. My boyfriend got aggro off me (happens when I'm having a sneezing fit due to seasonal allergies as my sneezing fits tend to last like 30 seconds at least). We wiped. Except for one DPS who ran off.

Said DPS rage quit saying we are all noobs lol. but after that wipe, the run was smooth even if we lacked one DPS. We just laughed at the wipe and majority of the party said that the DPS who left was just a special snowflake and doesn't have the right to react like that.

I had a Sastasha over the weekend with three green sprouts. All three were brand new to the instance and the healer and archer said they were new to the game.

The baby tank was great. He was either an alt or restarting player, he marked, he held aggro, he positioned mobs well. The archer asked what the marks were, and when we told them it was mob priority they began following the marks too. Altogether that sprout group made the Sastasha run as easy and painless as a group of vets.

Over the weekend I queued for mentor roulette and got Titan. It was an eight man party so I was sure it had to be Titan Extreme. A dps dc'd before we loaded in and I said "well, we can get in a practice run or two before he returns or we dismiss him" and one of the tanks said "or we could just one shot it..." About a third of the way through the duty I finally realized it was going way too easily and smoothly and no one was dead; I looked up at the duty roster and it was Titan Hard. Lol.

Well, I am grinding for my weekly drop from Alex normal about two days ago, and I landed in A9N:







Everything went fine, and Nono- I believe was our DRK from Levi, basically just sat outside after one wipe due to a careless mistake by us in dealing with the adds, and chose to blame the healers instead.

We tried to get her back in, but she just refused. So I kinda got snappy with her, lol. . . But our other tank(warrior I believe), just gave it a go and solo tank, while our dragoon tanked the adds.

We made it just fine! Guess what, Nono- decides to join us after all, and even has the audacity to roll for the loot! I would be lying if I say I did not feel happy in out-rolling her then. . .

@Miste re: A9 healer. Had something similar in a a9s learning party. I was teaching FC mate the fight, so didn't want a straight up carry. A whm joins the party my healer friend also is helping as a sch. MT is a little unfamiliar with the fight as well as two dps. How does the whm act to this? Clerics blowing his mana pool dry dps'ing while my sch friend is doing generators and also forced to main heal. So his mana is low as well. Now when things went wrong it became a wipe because whm doesn't have the mana or the desire to heal. At one point the sch dies to scrapline during faust cuz tank position. Whm response? Stays in clerics, slow casting rez on sch. Mt and OT die. Why slowcast you ask? Cuz swiftcast was used to dps. I asked him multiple times to lay off the dps and help heal. No response no change. Asshat.

Queued for A12 for weekly. I get paired up with a WHM, 2 NINs, 1 BRD, and a MNK(?)... some melee DPS. Everything is going fine, I'm happily pumping out DPS + Aspected Helios when its Mega Holy time, etc, etc. I'm halfway through my mana despite JUST using Luminiferous Aether, so I politely ask the BRD to Mage Ballad, which he does (thankfully), albeit with a snide comment of "You have some but ok, lol". I tell him that LA is down, and he stays quiet.

We reach around 15% before WHM, 3 DPS, and tank die. At this point, I was nearly out of mana, second tank was about to die as well, so I go ahead and LB3. I'm immediately hit with a "wtf why did you LB3?" from the BRD. I tell him that our party was mostly dead, second tank was going to die, so why the heck not? One of the NINs smartly go, "ever heard of a raise?" I point out that I'm out of mana. BRD *remember this is the BRD who was dead* goes, "Mage Ballad?". I was in utter shock. "Sweetie you were dead, why would I have Mage Ballad?". Anywhoozies, I wish I had a happy ending, but it doesn't. I take one for the team, die after other tank dies (sorry I couldn't LB fast enough ), we down him to 5% and vote to abandon.

More a mini irritation with Duty Finder, I really wish the older 24 man content, if like 90% of the team is accepting, just let us go. Surely people will fill in with "in progress"? Been waiting almost an hour for Syrcus to have 3/3 6/6 14/15 for the last 5 pops. =/
