plus the fact you can't dye dungeon gear - until they add that in i wouldn't want to use it for glamour. less currency bloat please.

Too complicated, and it would hurt new players and old content.
However, some sort of in-game system to let you look at/try on dungeon gear and tell you where it comes from would be nice.

How about a NPC at the entrace of each dungeon (outside, not inside), showing the gear you can get in it.
He don't sell anything, you can't buy anything, only trying out the gear you can find in that dungeon.

why use a new tome/currency? use Poetic's for all 2.0 gear (sold from Rowena's vender's in Rev toll) & the "uncapped" tome for 3.0 gear (sold in Idleshire, same brand vendor's), we don't need item bloat from "new" stuff (like token exchange) as that already a problem & if nessesary make all gear cost the same as the uncapped tome gear does but make it so "EX roullete" gear is not added until it becomes "lv60 roullete" gear
thou I would accept a Dungeon gear drop list in-game for glam check options as at lest u'd know were that 1 item u want drops & what it looks like
What some see as "distracted" is really "fathoming the unfathomable" - last words from an Ul'dahn Mercurial Chemister at the battle of Carteneau

I have been trying to get one piece from a certain easy dungeon for months now (my luck sucks) so I would welcome some alternative.
However, this idea as it stands wouldn't work. I'd be capped on tomestones within a week or two and either use it to twink my lower jobs for no real reason or just get free income from desynth/GC points from it. Like PVP currency has become since it's also pretty useless after picking up a few glamours.
Maybe let us exchange drops from a dungeon for any one of the other potential drops at the NPC who stands outside it? Like, twenty drops from the one item you want. I know that's a lot, but I could do it. Easily.
No offense, but I think this is a terrible idea. Why not just hand out the gear like candy when you enter a city state?
Others have mentioned the issues with this, things like currency bloat, incentive killing, and content killing.
But to me, this kind of idea serves only one kind of player, the player who doesn't want to actually play the game.
So, no thanks, this is an awful idea.
I see the idea in all isn't received well xD. Mostly due to currencies and incentives.
I don't think this game will ever change with its currencies and tokens. Literally every single thing in this game is given through a currency/token or random RNG(that people hate) that's just the truth. So if you don't want currency bloat.. That's like.. in a way going against the game itself. New 24 man will come out and have a token. I bet. I simply can't imagine another way. Or else none at all. Asking for a glamour log won't work.
Incentives: I won't deny this was an issue.. Making the initial post took awhile just because I was trying think of something that wasn't completely absurd at least xD.
But remember this is only for brainstorming! I still stand by my initial idea I put in the Hide Box mostly.
As having a buff that doubles the tome reward for the dungeon respective to the gear you're trying to get

I didn't read every post, so sorry if this was mentioned before. But while the idea is interesting, I doubt SE will do it, since, when 3.X came out, they made the old dungeon gear into crafting gear. While annoying in a different way, I see SE repeating that trend.
I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

Like the idea, but instead of adding yet another currency I think you could simply use the lesser Tomestone as the currency for previous dungeons. No real need to add another and you shouldn't be able to buy the current dungeon gear (current patch dungeons).
And honestly this could remove people from DF, so that could be an issue.
So to combat that if you're seriously after a piece, I think the pieces should be expensive. Say 2,000 tomestones per piece. This way it helps to keep people in DF for that much longer.
