Why not just leave it the way it is and not spiritbond your equips until you have replacements.. just because you can doesn't mean you have to. No more nerfs pls! Also alot of people have the choker and new players may not soon enough.

It would be nice if you could gain spiritbond from leves and quests. Especially for low level people and gatherers/crafters.
Well, I'm trying to spirit bond my level 1 starting armor and I've taken two classes almost to level 10 and barely have 25% -- I wouldn't say its completely balanced. Low level gear should be able to hit spiritbond by the time you upgrade - -who wants to trounce around in starting gear for longer than they have to?The rate isn't that bad while leveling, it is about 2-4 level to max each item. However, could you direct this to dev team that R50 crafters and gatherer are having a very hard time on gaining the sprite bond for their tool?
Main problem being that gathering at grade-5 node (highest) give them very very poor EXP. (grade-5 is good content for R34 gatherer, but we stuck with nothing more until R50 and now we can only gain very bad exp)
And crafters seriously need more raw materials to craft in this patch (very expensive) while gain very bad exp as reward. Leve are also no higher than R50.
I would say crafter at R50 gain spirit bond about 10 times slower than fighter at R50, while gatherer at R50gain spirit bond about 20 times slower than fighter at R50. This is serious issue.
Don't have any problems with it so far :-)We have received a lot of feedback regarding the rate of gaining spiritbond while leveling. Many players have stated that they're already ready to upgrade to their next set of gear before they reach 100% spiritbond.
In regards to this, we will be making adjustments to the amount of time it takes to gain spiritbond.
Also something to keep in mind, fighting lower level monsters (those under your optimal level range) will slow the rate of gaining spiritbond.
We will continue to look forward to more feedback!
Yes, this is what I'm talking about. Folks with r50's just don't understand that if you are a New Player, you can't just grind out Materia on a higher level class because you don't have a higher level class!Well, I'm trying to spirit bond my level 1 starting armor and I've taken two classes almost to level 10 and barely have 25% -- I wouldn't say its completely balanced. At the current rate of SpiritBond, a new character/class will always be "behind the curve", either wearing low level gear too long in order to gain spiritbond/materia or the will never gain SPiritbond because they upgrade their gear before the Bond is full.
In another thread I made this suggestion:
For lower level gear (sub r20 or r30), instead of basing the "Bond Rate" on exp per kill, have the SpiritBond increase with each level you gain.
Essentially divide the progress into 1/8ths and every 8 levels you have fully "Bonded" gear that you can make into Materia for your new gear. I chose 8 levels because that seems to be the general rate that new gears become available.
This would only work (if at all) for low level players and gear so make the cutoff at r20 or r30. From then on continue to base the Bond-Rate on exp per kill as it is now. That way higher levels (esp r50's) can grind/farm materia to their hearts content (or masochistic madness).

Oh man, no wonder. I went into a leve party of five persons total, we did leves of five starsWe have received a lot of feedback regarding the rate of gaining spiritbond while leveling. in Horizon. Mobs were, I believe, about 5 or 6 level above me. After just three or four leves nearly all of my gear had max spirit bond. I was a bit curious about it since I had struggled a bit to up it before, seemed much slower, SPECIALLY with my Disciples of Hand and Land which brings me to...
Seriously, it'd be cool if we had a chance to up the market with Lands and Hands too. Bringing the bonding up to speed with the Wars and Magics is something I'd very much like to see (or just give us a new method to increase it, since they don't have any group content at all, which makes me sad. Some bonding quest/leves or items from Grand Companies). The rate isn't that bad while leveling, it is about 2-4 level to max each item. And you miss my point, I don't know how fast or slow is it on your low rank gear, because all of my classes playing are R50 now.Well, I'm trying to spirit bond my level 1 starting armor and I've taken two classes almost to level 10 and barely have 25% -- I wouldn't say its completely balanced. let's separate this into 2 issue:
-First, you said your rate in low rank gear is already balance -> okay good thing! so SE doesn't need to fix this part.
-Second, now I says that R50 of DoH and DoL can not make any spirit bond at all! this is the issue here that need fixing! (please not ask me to make a new character or mule just to spirit bond it)

Do I REALLY have to sit around to find a group of people in my own level range so we can PL so I can actually accomplish anything?
Really, it just makes me feel like Solo'ing has been gimped.

Since Materia is out, i made around ~100 different Materias out of my Gear. Its fine as it ism since its fast as hell on 50's. DoH and DoL are also fine, it is slower than Battleclasses, for sure. But does it really matter? Wards are crowed with Materia, Inventories are crowed with Materias.. Whats the Point of making it even way faster?
And by that.. putting Materia on low-level Gear which you wont wear at 50 doesnt make sense at all.
Hey all.
Just a small issue with the spiritbonding. From my experience, since the new stat algorithms have been introduced, being gimp means something, and trying to bond a set of gimp equipment can be pretty darn hard. The fact of the matter is, the game wants you to be fighting and bonding at monsters your level and higher, but you'll have a hard time with these monsters naked, so it is also a little hard to beat them with gear 10 levels below you that almost have spirit bond so you cant switch to a new set yet.
I think it would be nice if they change it so that bonding with mobs 3 levels below you isnt as slow as it is now. Now this issue might tie directly into the fact EXP drops off when you fight mobs below your level, and if that's the case then fixing this small issue might be tougher. But dearest dev. team or dearest playerbase should figure out a solution to this small problem.
Like i said it is only a small issue that can be sidestepped with not having the full gimp set on and only have 1 or 2 pieces with up to level armor, and just toughing it out with a slower gaining speed of killing monsters lower than your level.
