Isn't it the other way round ? That the current generation of players don't want to stay for years on the same game, and thus MMO are made with short lifespan ?Yoshi said in a recent article there aren't many new mmos coming out these days and that's because research says players aren't interested any more. They'll pick up an mmo blast it for a couple of months and drop it. The current generation of mmos lacks longevity and meaningful progression and thus doesn't keep players interested.
