...and nothing. Issue still persists.
What ever happened to a game you can just "plug and play"? This is ridiculous.

Refer to the other thread of the exact same issue. Trust me i know your frustration

Its amazing this is a problem thats lasted years and SE still hasn't fixed it. Got a pro and am getting this dreadful error. Uninstalled and reinstalled every way possible 4 times now. Changing DNS settings did nothing. Heartbreaking that SE doesn't care about so many players effected.
Yeah, a buddy of mine is currently trying to play the demo version through PS4...yet he can't due to this silly error. And we have tried everything from multiple DNS settings to even swapping out hard drives. When I installed it on my own PS4 Pro, I ran into the issue, only to thankfully have the DNS trick work for me. Yet, there's a thread on this very same issue in the Resolved forum with no real resolution. Its amazing this is a problem thats lasted years and SE still hasn't fixed it. So...apparently, absolute silence is what gets the patch to actually install, as there's been no answer by SE whatsoever on this issue. Either that, or this is a very poorly moderated forum.
I'll leave you to guess which way I'm leaning.
This should work for people that have been trying to switch to a new ps4 or have been just trying to do a "new install". I was stuck with the same error you guys have had for days. Always ends in the same "unable to dl patch" bs no matter what I tried. Port changes, isp swaps, etc. What finally did it for me was, of all things, a system transfer.
A little info so you understand where I'm coming from. I have been playing the game for ages without an issue. My boyfriend recently wanted to give it a shot. So after buying a ps4 pro for him we tried to install the game but only ended up being plagued with errors. After trying every trick I could find on the net I finally got the idea to try a different tactic. Obviously SE's launcher is to blame so I found a way to just take it out of the situation. Since I have a fully working, and updated, version of the game on my ps4 I decided to use the PS4's data transfer tool. That allowed me to send a copy of my patched version over LAN to my boyfriends system. With my fingers crossed I logged in on the transfered copy and it worked perfectly. I'll detail everything below.
·Deleted the game completely from the system that wouldn't allow the update
·Used Sony's system transfer tool to send my updated copy to my boyfriend's new system that had the download issue we've all been dealing with.
·Logged in with his new account and it works great. No issues or updates.
Now I know this doesn't help everyone. But it does help those that are switching to PS4 Pros this holiday season. If you don't have another system (a friend, or anyone for that matter) that has the game already installed and patched then this wont help. But for those that do have a similar situation I hope this gets you past this bs that SE seems to not care about.
Best of luck to the rest of you. I will continue to try router fixes to force an install to patch to help everyone else but for now I'm brain dead from several days messing with my network. Hope this at least helps someone.
Happy Holidays Everyone!

I had the same problem and fixed it using a combo of DNS changes on the ps4.
This was after trying pretty much everything else mentioned on any thread.
I was able to get to patch 2015.05.26 using the Google DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. after getting here, the patch would error. I then switched the DNS to level 3 DNS of 4.2.2.2 and 4.2.2.3. This worked for about two more patches until I reached about 3300 MB left in the download. I then switched back to google DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and rode it out until it finished
This also worked for another user on the Game FAQs board if you want to check that out.
Hope this helps another person out as this took up about 10-15 hours of me deleting, reinstalling and researching and trying other things. Sooooooooo frustrating.
I'm just in the process of doing this myself right now. Got a new HDD because I wanted my faster speeds and increased size, didn't have any of these error code issues with the last HDD of similar specs. This latest one has been plagued with these errors when updating XIV. Installed ARR first for about 7000 MBs or so at first, got error with 10,700 or so MBs left, switched to using a phone hotspot for the trouble patch of 5/27 2015, helped me get 3000 more MBs and switched back to my normal connection till I'm at 7625.96 MBs total left. Then the phone hotspot was getting the error codes again at 47 MBs exactly. Now I'm using the Google DNS settings as you showed to get a little bit more progress at an albeit extremely slow pace, which at some point I'll probably have to start changing DNS settings every 5 minutes just to keep it going.I had the same problem and fixed it using a combo of DNS changes on the ps4.

Hopefully this works for me when it's all said and done, but ****, who would ever want to play a game where you have to do these gymnastics just to get it working? This is insane.
DUDE! My friend and I have been at this for over a week being stuck on that very patch. I'm currently in a chat with him on PS4...and while it's not finished, I CAN confirm that this method of switching to the Level 3 DNS seems to be working!I had the same problem and fixed it using a combo of DNS changes on the ps4.

And my buddy (who doesn't have a character, yet miraculously ran out his free trial due to this issue) actually wanted me to thank you for this method. Never thought a "fix" would come from GameFAQs though...wish I would have though.
NOTE: As I'm typing this, he just "black screened" again, but has made it past the "trouble spot" he's been stuck on for days. So, we'll switch back to the Google DNS and see if it works.
I do not understand any of the technical jargon in this post but I cannot get Heavensward to download on my PC. I get the same error message, and tech support blew me off saying its a connection issue but if its starting to download why would it be connection. I am butt ass stupid when it comes to technical jargon or procedure, and have no clue how to fo in and do (or even understand) any of the stuff in this thred, Can someone give me a plain english easy for stupid people to understand solution?
I'm just here to have fun
That's awesome! I hope he was able to finish the patch downloading and get into the game. This entire experience has been frustrating, but it's good to know it has helped some folks!
