This happened yesterday, was playing as BLM and went into Leveling, got library. SCH says that it is their first time healing this as sch and to go easy. After first set tank runs and grabs both sets and is almost instantly killed followed by me, the healer and monk. Then start up the train of ressing yet the mobs are being brought back to the start and after the 2nd death I just stayed dead and told em to let it go. We regroup, go for another shot at it. Tank dies again and I was more irritated at the tank for trying it again but didn't say much after. Resort to single pulls and get to the golem with adds and before going on the SCH tells us that something is wrong, the tank should NOT be dropping this fast. Naturally I check the tank and is in full 250+ gear.

Checking the SCH, item level 90hat, Ilv 90 book and an array of 50-57 armor and jewelry. Dunno if he was trying to blame the tank but had to point out the gear to him, said he didn't bother because he had gear once he got to 60. Upside he did seem to take it well and bailed out, yet after waiting for 10mins at the first boss (having spent 10 just to get there) ended up bailing out and going to bed.

First Story!

In Gubal HM, I encountered a BLM that had issues. They used Transpose instead of using Fire 3/Blizzard 3, used Thunder 3 instead of Thunder to get Thundercloud procs, would single target Flare... bad stuff. And they were geared too, so it's not like they were new! I decided to help them out but they responded with utter indignation over what I was trying to do. I keep trying to help only to have this guy completely snap. Swearing, threats, you name it. But then, the kicker, which left me and the group shocked.

He blamed his lackluster performance on the fact that earlier in the day, he got hit by a bus.

Wut. You mean to tell me that rather than, you know, go to the hospital and recover from a life-threatening injury, you decided to go play FFXIV instead? Priorities, man!

We finished and afterwards, after the BLM left, myself and the other party members had a moment of, "Wow, that just happened," before we went our separate ways.

Second Story!

Back when Neverreap was the Expert, I ran into a Monk that wouldn't use Forbidden Chakra. Now, I don't main Monk and personally, I don't know the actual mechanics behind it. What I do know, though, is it is pivotal for them and some of their HW abilities so they can deal some major damage. I point this out to them, at which point they tell me that no, Forbidden Chakra isn't a Monk ability. It's a Ninja ability. Again, I don't main Monk but even I know what Monks do over Ninjas, and I tried to tell them that yes, Forbidden Chakra was a Monk ability. They continued to deny it was and was adamant that it was a Ninja ability. Having watch some anime or two in my day, I told them that I think I know why you're getting it confused because, you know, Naruto, but here, Chakra is to Monks while Mudras are to Ninjas. Despite this, they never once used Forbidden Chakra throughout the entire run. It took forever to finish.

Third Story!

Back in ARR, I was leveling BRD and ended up getting Aurum Vale for the Roulette. This was bad enough, but it became infinitely worse when we discovered that our Tank was a GLD. Yes, you heard right: GLD. Not PLD.

A GLD. In Aurum Vale. No Shield Oath.

He said we'd be fine, but that statement was proven false almost instantly. By some small miracle, we SOMEHOW made it past Coincounter but at that point, what with myself, the Healer, and the other DPS having all been the Tanks instead of, you know, the actual Tank? We collectively snapped and booted him for a proper Tank.

*Fourth and Final Story!*

In ARR, I was trying to get Garuda Extreme done. I was still somewhat new back then, and so I wasn't really too keen on Party Finder yet. But I did know how to use Roulette! What could go wrong with that, I thought?

Well, Garuda manhandled all of my DF groups, but the absolute WORST came courtesy of a Tank that was absolutely WASTED. Like, this guy was drunk on a level I didn't know possible. I had no idea you could slur TEXT until I met this guy. And as Garuda is DESTROYING us, he's going on about how he needs another drink.

I did not get my Garuda Extreme clear that day.

This is why I stopped trying to help people in the first place. Don't want to DPS as a healer? You're new, I get that. I won't judge at this level. But, I'm TRYING to help you understand your abilities.

I wanted to explain that she should probably stop only using her highest level Cure spell to heal with, but I'm pretty sure that would've gotten me kicked.

I'm still wondering why they called it "Cleric Stance" in the first place, it's kind of ambiguous, something like "Combat Stance", "Damage Stance", "Attack Stance" or similar could have been more explicit. Maybe a case of weird translation from Japanese to English?

Tanked a Hydra trial where the AST preferred to DPS and leave all the healing to the WHM. The WHM who was spamming Cure II on me.

Said Cure IIs were healing for, at the most, around 350 HP each time. I can't even be bothered to try and dig up an explanation for that anymore.

And no, they weren't in Cleric Stance either.

Wouldn't shock me, apparently new people aren't allowed to be wrong EVER if they have friends. Which saddens me cus then we end up with a level 60 Healer in Alex still healing in Cleric.
