Even with twines and coats from raids, you need 8 weeks of clears to give one to each in your group from drops alone, most a full patch cycle. It's not as if upgrades are handed out to raiders like candy.
You can choose, as long as you try with different groups. That's exactly what I did to get my earrings in A1s.
And it is precisely having equipment handed out like candy.. see my simplified comparison above: 1 i270 piece per week vs 0.89 of an i260 piece per week.

Yet again, 4th time I see the same flawed argument "you only need i270 for creator savage".

Uhm... i don't know what you talk about, but i can only roll on items at the 1st weekly kill. o.O After that my ID is set and i can't roll on ANYTHING, doesn't matter how often i go in there and kill Alex Savage or if i got an Item on 1st kill or not.
Maybe there is something i am doing wrong about it? :P

Try to confirm beforehand how many members have cleared it already for the week -the fewer the better, iirc.
I also remember making sure the party leader had not progressed any further for the week -this might be another issue altogether, though.
No idea what rules apply for the raid finder, if you're using that.
    Hope this helps

Actually not because it seems you don't understand how loot works in savage...

    Just see:
I go in there with a premade party of 8 people, none has the weekly kill so far, so we get 2 chests, each containing 1 item = 2 items, random, probably not for my class, because i know how "lucky" i am.
Fine. No loot for me for this week, because with the kill, my ID got set and even if i go in there again with another group of 7 people without weekly kill, I can't roll on ANYTHING. (Not mentioning there will be just 1 chest by that time, because my ID was already set).

So how should i be able to gear up faster than a player grinding, when i have to rely on RNG when it comes to the pieces I need, or i have to wait at least 4 weeks of weekly kills to buy just one of the weakest items with the books i got from weekly kill? o.O

At the very least you can still roll "greeds" for off-classes and arrange loot distribution with your group, if you have trouble getting a piece for your current job. I really don't see where the problem lies with that. it would still be 1 i270 piece for that week vs 0.9 of an i260 piece.

Wait... you mean in the 1st weekly kill? Sure, I can, but there are 7 other people with me, so the chance is very little to get any piece at all. Not to mention how useless it is for a raider in progress to get loot which is not for his main class...

Why should i scream out for tank loot if I am healer? (And there are already 2 tanks who also want their ilvl to increase...)

I guess if you are way too selective you might need to grind for longer.. (a raider.. gods forbid!) or arrange loot distribution with your group. At least A9 loot is way too flexible too.. no job-specifics but role-specifics.

I am still not sure if you know how a static works and if we are both talking about savage content...

Whenever i go in with random groups, of course I roll on everything but with a static? No way. You don't just play for yourself and you are part of a team so you have to keep the needs of others in mind as well. It's not about being picky, it's about being fair to others. There is a piece for Ninja and we do not have a Ninja in our group? Sure I roll for it, but there are 7 others who roll as well. Maybe I am lucky, maybe not.

But in the end it doesn't really matter, because i won't go in there as a Nin, because I'm SCH, so the ilvl of my main wont increase. o.O

I will stop this for now, because it seems you don't really get my point and it seems you don't want to understand, but want SE to nerf the system for gearing up, which i hope wont happen. Just wait for the next patch and the next Mhach raid, you will be able to get your upgrade material through that (I am pretty sure, because that's how it worked the last times) and you will hit ilvl270, probably faster than casual raiders, who are going for best in slot and therefore need more time to get their desired pieces.

But there is an imbalance at the item level of gearing up, and the permissible weekly rate of it: grinders always get the short end of the stick, despite this being an RPG series title.

Not sure how the same or more grinding for a single top-tier gear set item level (for example i270 instead of i260 vs i270) would equal "nerfing", if you have any ideas about that.

So you are unhappy about the fact that you get items that are not as good as the ones raiders get?

But how do you want to explain that? Headless running content that don't need any skill at all should give you the same ilvl as savage content? And you consider that being fair? o.O
I say it is not. Raiders spend a lot of time learning hard content and clearing it. (I am not talking about world 1st and stuff, but about the majority of raiders, who are waaaaaay more casual.)
You are entering random dungeons that are so easy it is almost a shame they appear in "Expert" roulette and you will get upgrade material from the Mhach raids, which are not any harder at all... You are not skilled enough/ don't have the time/ motivation (whatever) to raid? Well, I guess you have to wait a little longer then for you ilvl270, but you will get it in the end, so where is the problem at all?
