Gubal HM, I was AST and got paired with a WAR and a BLM/BRD couple which kept spamming /hug or /blowkiss or some... interesting selfmade emotes. As the DPS was okay I didn't say anything about it, just after the second boss I said "all this love here, please kill me".
And then I think the party actually tried to do so. The WAR did the standard massive pull, probably expecting a mage LB - but the BLM did the normal Fire II/Flare thing, and the BRD didn't the LB either, he just said "Holmgang xD" while the WAR never used that skill in this pull... he even got a stack of Vulnerability Up. I was a bit annoyed because I didn't find the time to DPS, but I didn't say anything and just did my Synastry/Benefic II/Essential Dignity thing and fed BLM with Balance and Arrow and BRD with Ewer and Spire until the trash was down to three mobs.
After that the BRD said "This healer is OP :O gj!" and, along with his BLM friend, started spamming /joy towards me, leaving me a bit... confused. It wasn't even hard keeping the tank up, I was just annoyed because I couldn't DPS xD

Expert Roulette (Xelphatol) lately. Went in as a BLM, my main
Everything went nice and smooth until we finished the first boss. That's when it all started.
Healer: "I have noticed you let Enochian fall off. You are supposed to prolong it with Blizzard 4 "
Me: *very confused because I didn't drop Enochian* "That's what I've been doing..?"

Silence followed, up until the final boss, where she spoke up again.
Healer: "I have watched you the entire run and saw you lost Enochian several times."
Me: *slightly annoyed because, again* "I didn't."

That's when the tank pulled, so I focused on the fight instead of the healer,
something she did appearently not find necessary since she went into full-blown explanation bot mode and no healing was to be seen.
Healer: "I see you using Fire I"
Me: "Yes, for Astral Fire =__="
Healer: "If you drop Enochian, you can't use Fire IV, your most potent spell."
Healer: "Blizzard IV prolongs Enochian so you can keep using Fire IV!"
Healer: "Are you ignoring me? You are only hurting yourself because you won't be able to clear harder content unless you pull your weight"

I had no magical crystal ball for this specific run, but I tend to be top dps in most runs I do of all kinds of content,
and I have no problem with savage, ex primals and the like. Haven't been to A12S yet but hey, at least the dummy for it goes down without a hitch.
I'm fairly sure I am more than "pulling my weight"

At that point, the fight had been going on for over a minute and Enochian's cooldown finished and it was ready for use again.
As I was out of MP anyways, I switched to Umbral Ice and threw a Thunder at the boss while the shortened Enochian naturally ran out
and I used the fresh one as I went back into Astral Fire. You know, #justblackmagethings. But the healer went nuts.
Healer: "See?! You dropped it again!"
Healer: "You've been doing this all run, at every boss. Stop lying that you do not drop it"
Healer: "Why are you not at least trying to do what I say..! Try using Blizzard IV. At least try it once!"

All that concentration on the chat led to a wonderful wipe to one of the weakest dungeon bosses ever,
simply because we recieved literally no healing against the roomwide wind AoE

Me: "Good job, [healer's name]^^ You sure showed me how one plays their class correctly."
Healer: "I prefer the long-term benefit of you improving over the short-term satisfaction of finishing this dungeon quickly."
Me: *sigh* "How do you think my Enochian lasts a full minute or longer when it's initial timer is 30 seconds? >.>"

It was silent as we ran back and started the fight again.
Shortly before the end, she said: "You are supposed to refresh 2 times though."
Me: "I refresh however many times I see fit depending on boss phases and my MP. Can we just get this over with already?"

And that's how it ended.

That story made me laugh cause it was so funny lol I am sorry for your run in with that person though...I am not sure they know how blm works as much as they ...think they do? They seem to think that enochian should "never" fall off....which is impossible.

Like based on their comments it seems that they just happen to look over at you every time your enochian was expiring and, even though they saw no other part of your rotation or if you had already used Blizzard IV once or twice, assumed you were just letting it expire (even though we both know if you refresh twice the ability itself is backup off cooldown already so you naturally let it fall off in most situations)

I mean...you need a lot of awareness on healer to do your job plus watch what another player is doing all at the same time. Most don't have those kind of multi-tasking skills lol so I don't know why they try so hard to see everything when in the end they only saw like 1/4 of what another player was doing and then try to nitpick it (and cause a needless wipe lol). It isn't the same as never seeing a buff used since that is more obvious (like a NIN not using Huton the entire run or a BLM never using Enochian at all), but trying to keep track of a full level 60 rotation while still doing your job too? That's a hard one to accomplish.

I'm rolling mentors and get Halatali normal. Two sprouts, nothing too unusual there. We plod along just fine up to the first boss and then... we kill it.

Okay, not a very amusing story yet, but this is when the tank sprout says "thanks for the party" and leaves.

Everyone stood around going "wait what" for a few moments after that. Poor bab probably didn't realise that there was more dungeon left. Then my partner got in and we cleared the rest of it.

Also, I cleared my 1000th mentor roulette today. Yay!

Had a couple of Ex primals oneshotted in mentor roulette from queueing in-prog yesterday, I swear these cherrypicking rq'ing "mentors" are their own worst enemy.

Got LCoA (HM) on 60 roulette as a PLD. I was paired with a SMN who was new to the dungeon... and SMN itself, apparently. There were no Aetherflows. There was no Shadowflare. There was definitely no Dreadwyrm Trance. Hell, there wasn't even any Ruin. They literally just spammed DoTs on a single monster - Miasma, Bio, Bio II (in that order), and then applied them over and over again. On the same monster.

When I realised the source of the spectacularly low DPS, I asked them what they were doing. "this is how u kill mobs the fastest." I didn't have a response to that that didn't constitute a ToS violation, so I asked them to please use Ruin, and that DoTs don't need to be applied over and over. "i know," they said. Apparently they didn't, however, because even though they generously threw about two Ruins a minute out, they still didn't use Bane or even Aetherflow until I prompted again with "[Bane]." A few more mobs and a boss pass by, and despite getting some Banes out of them, I noticed there were still no Attunement stacks or any sign of Dreadwyrm, so I drop a hint about that as well. I was met with the timeless "shut up and tank", to which I responded that I would be delighted to quietly go about my job if they could actually play theirs. By this point we're at the last boss, but he finally goes into DT! Huzzah! I did lament Shadowflare's continued absence, but that was always going to be a lost cause. The dungeon ends with a chorus of "GG!" I just leave.

As a SMN secondary, that run pained my soul.

I have a couple of good ones...was running A11N yesterday with my static's machinist, both of us are still gearing tertiary jobs. The run was actually going quite smoothly until final phase, the part of the fight where you get the towers, lasers, prey on a dps, lasers again, then the optical sight, then the propeller wind; basically the perfect storm of mechanics. We lost a dps due to the exploding prey. But pretty much everyone survived up until propeller wind; we lost a healer right around lasers/optical sight. Still recoverable, right?

Everyone but me and the tank got confused due to propeller wind, even some people like my machinist who were hiding behind a tower. Not quite line of sight enough?

Cruise chaser is down to his last 3% of health and the rest of the party dies. It's just me and the PLD. So it's going to be a wipe, right?

Nope, I had a fell cleave ready, kept up DPS, E.D.D. appeared and I ignored him, switched to Defiance for Equilibrium, and the PLD and I finished off the last few percent of the boss's health as I Holmganged just to make sure E.D.D. didn't get in a lucky shot.

The PLD and I fistbumped each other while the rest of the party exclaimed gratitude for the clutch clear.

Speaking of mentor roulettes in progress...this morning I queued up for mentor roulette on my BRD just for kicks. Zoned in and it was Ultima's Ballad. It was going kind of okay at the start, I played battle Foe's for the BLM and SMN, but the main tank (both WARs) got 4 stacks then died, and....heyyyyy Ultima, why are you looking at me like that?? Despite that, when the healers get the MT up, he provokes Ultima off me (props to the healers for keeping the bard tank up in the meantime) and we get to the final round of 8 orbs before party wipe. In discussing a few things, we realize the other warrior doesn't have provoke - he only had GLD to 15. So as I'm explaining that he may want to level it to 22 for provoke because it's required for any fight with tank swaps, the MT votes to dismiss him and the other warrior just pulls. No ready check, nothing, just wades in and pulls.

What followed was a hilarious bloodbath. Neither tanks hold aggro, the monk gets aggro, somehow I end up top aggro again (despite the two warriors and the monk), eventually we wipe. I have to admit I was just having fun at that point; because no one was tanking him and I had top aggro, I kited Ultima around the arena and did it quite successfully until finally the MT picked him up again. But yeah, wiped. Discuss the situation again, I'm advocating tank LB for that phase, MT asks for the party to either dismiss the provoke-less warrior or him, he doesn't care which; other warrior pulls again. MT picks boss up after an initial all-over-the-place aggro table, we get to final eight orbs, wipe. The other warrior gets dismissed.

I ask the party to wait a minute, and I'll come back on tank. So I leave, switch to PLD, return to the fight, and tell the MT to go ahead and start, as I can provoke when his stacks get too high. We wipe again, but the party has new energy and is sure we can do it. We assign people to orb quadrants, and from there it goes smoothly. I tank LB at that final phase, orbs get eaten, Ultima is downed, much rejoicing is made.

We never did get a dps to fill the slot I left vacant.

Tanking Sohm Al, I had the luxury of running into a NIN using level 55 weapons.

Not equip level. ITEM LEVEL.

Needless to say, the rest of the party got to carry them through, while I admonished them for not bothering to upgrade their most vital piece. They protested that they hadn't received a drop, I explained that this ain't Diablo and that item level matters far more than rarity and even a cheap NQ level appropriate upgrade would be better. All in all, sadly a typical DF experience.

The story gets interesting about an hour later however. I run into them again. They HAVE upgraded their weapon to an ilvl 133 MB weapon, and now actually take up a decent chunk of the enmity bar, so they at least knew how to play their class. Wound up giving them the commendation on that second run for actually taking my advice!
