I have mixed feelings about this, when I'm being honest.
I've played healer myself for a very long time, so I understand the point that there's dungeon runs where a healer has nothing to do as healer and can spend his time doing DPS.
I mean, it's quite dull to just run behind the tank and DPS doing nothing.

On the other hand, the statement "making your healer work" leaves a bad taste in mouth.
I know there's different opinions about healers doing DPS in runs, but when it's put like this, I have the impression you want to dictate how he should play his role,
which in my opinion you cannot do. You could ask if he wants a challenge / do DPS, but forcing it like this just feels wrong.

Bit late for that. The community already adopted the opinion that healers should always be dpsing or get kicked.

How would one even make a healer "work hard"?

If there's a lot of incoming damage on the tank, healers just spam cure/benefic II, maybe with a regen or cooldown in between. If that counts as "hard work", every melee DPS that spams their first spell, keeps up "one" DoT and throws a cooldown every now and again is "working hard" as well >_>

This is why I stay on my dps job most the time even though I have a lvl 60 whm that decently geared.

I haven't been kicked for not DPSing as a healer. Although that's because I usually get squishy tanks and/or DPS.

But if perchance a tank decides to test my healing skills without a warning, I retaliate by testing their gut to see how low I can make their HP go before I heal them. Yes, I will let their HP go down to 2 digits.

In expert roulette, a tank that pulls the maximum amount still results in a healer who is "bored because it is so easy that [they] literally [are] just standing there dpsing instead".

I feel like I'm one of the few healer's that doesn't mind if you pull super fast or super slow or if you're a super geared tank or a min ilvl tank with a death wish - I'm going to do my job and that's to keep you alive any way I can while filling in any gaps with anything I can do to make the run go faster. Sure I might get annoyed with you if you're a min ilvl tank that pops no CDs and pulling everything and the kitchen sink but I'll keep you alive but eh, if I didn't want to deal with that I'd DR with the tanks in my raid group all the time. I know what I sign up for and don't care what you throw at me unless you're so terrible as a tank that doesn't know how to keep your ego in check. *Shrugs*

Funny enough they've already reduced the Fairy's power in 3.0 via stat nerf, so I won't be surprised if they do it again in 4.0 just to try to put SCH in line with the other healers.

I get a lot of tanks pulling from the frogs to the statues in gubal hard that leave me with no MP without even having time for a single dps spell.

While leveling i made healers work very hard in dungeons, usually trying my best to push them to their limits but with all the walls and limited pulling its kinda hard some times.

And it is really boring when the tank takes barely any damage and only pulls one mob at a time.

I don't know what to tell you. I went in as a 245-ish SCH (it's my secondary, SMN is where my gear goes primarily), and I literally didn't cast more than 3 heals in any one pull (most I didn't heal at all). I hit rouse on SCH and just DPSed away. Again, these are on the pulls where the tank pulls literally everything that is physically possible.

I can't imagine how 'fun' it would be if my SCH was my geared one at 266 ilvl.
